48 bullseyes out of 50 shots, but the first 2 shots don’t really count!!!
They gave me yet another new gun that shook the bejeezus out of me when it fired, so the general instructor on the range told me to exchange it for a different gun.
They switched it out for a Sig Max Pro that got along with me very, very well!! So I am going to stick with that one from now on.
AND — I was able to load the bullets just fine! Yay.
The two holes circled in black at the top right, were the first 2 shots with the other gun.

Congrats on your great shooting, Marilyn! You’re picking it up really quick!
When the time comes that you DO have a gun around regularly, spend some time loading your ammo at home with your eyes closed. It’s amazing how much it helps and how fast you get. (I know you use a loader, but… )
My favorite gun is my Sig Sauer P-238, which I only bought a year ago after firing it for the first time in 2021… LOVED that gun! I hesitated to buy it then because .380 ammo was so expensive at the time, but not now… so I loaded up on it in 2023 and bought it! It’s TINY… which my small hands fit really well… and it’s definitely my go-to! Glad you’re enjoying shooting a Sig; they’re fantastic!
Also must thank you for being the person who ‘introduced’ me to Simon Parkes AND to Phil! Would never have known about him without your blog! That’s why I’ll keep reading it forever!
Thank you, Susan!! I will definitely try that eyes closed process. I’m trying to not rely on the loader— but right now, it’s 50-50. It’s still hard for me.
The Sig is incredible! I know they sell a lot of different Sigs there, so I’ll look for your model. It might be out of my price range for a while. We’ll see!!! And thanks so much for following.💖
I’m very glad you’d like to look up the P-238, but… they actually stopped making it! After about 10 years of incredible popularity, it simply stopped manufacture, and I had the devil’s own time finding it! (I actually thought about buying more than one, just in case… but finally put my foot firmly down–mentally–and just bought one.) You’re right about Sigs being expensive, but they’re great. My other gun, an S&W, was much less expensive but is not nearly as much fun to shoot!
Continued good luck with your shooting; it’s amazing how much fun it is when you start to acquire some proficiency!
Oh darn it!!! Thanks for letting me know!!
