Just When You Think Things Are Calming Down…

I don’t know, gang, but every time I have to go back to the train station, my life gets that “scrambling” feeling again. Like I’m scrambling to find time for the writing. It makes me insane.

Anyway.

If you missed Phil yesterday, it was a really good one! And he gave great props to GoodLionTV, too — another one of my favorite truthers.

Phil showed the GoodLion film, “The Greatest Show on Earth” on his livestream.

You should watch it in its entirety, if you haven’t already, because not only is it an incredible film, but the film is also setting the groundwork for intel from Phil this coming Sunday night at 8PM Eastern time.

REPLAY – (2hrs 50 mins – includes film):

From Real Raw News:

Janet Yellen Arrested for Treason

[,,,] A source at CID’s Fort Liberty, NC, field office told Real Raw News that investigators apprehended Yellen and an unnamed associate outside the Merriweather Lakehouse Hotel in Baltimore at approximately 9:30 p.m. Yellen was shown a military arrest warrant charging her with treason and defrauding the United States of America before being shuttled to a processing center for interrogation.

He said Yellen seemed bewildered at the news and did not try to flee or resist. The associate, identified as Yellen’s chauffeur and bodyguard, was jailed as an accessory to Yellen’s crimes. […]”

Things really seem to be moving in a very positive direction, gang. You can sort of feel the momentum, can’t you?

So, as I’ve said a million times already — keep 2 weeks of food on hand for you, your family, your pets. Gas in the tank, cash in the house and out of the bank!

There’s been a sort of “set up” to expect the EBS on Oct. 4th. We’ll see, gang.

And while I am really ready for all this to be over, I’m sure hoping the EBS doesn’t really come when I’m headed to Cleveland to see Nick Cave (9/24), or the moment I get on the plane to Toronto for the opening of our play!! (10/26).

But I guess we’ll just wait and see. (It would sort of be my luck though, wouldn’t it?)

Anyway.

I posted recently that I am taking another course from Stage 32, about adapting an Intellectual Property for a serial podcast in order to attract producers to investing in the Property.

Even though I was interested in the course for just an overview of how to develop this type of project, yesterday I suddenly got a “great” idea!! I won’t go into the details of it on the blog yet, but it involves my TV Pilot, “Cleveland’s Burning” — which I am adapting for the stage, for Sandra to have the lead role (of the grandmother).

I am extremely excited about this new idea I’ve gotten, and the writing will have to be stellar in order to get Sandra’s agent onboard. But I’m feeling really confident.

If you aren’t familiar with this particular TV Pilot, this is a very brief overview from my bio page:

“Her original TV pilot, the racially charged Cleveland’s Burning, is currently in development with Bohemia Group Originals in Los Angeles. Scoring high on the Black List, Cleveland’s Burning was also a Second Rounder at the Austin Film Festival, as well as a semi-finalist in L.A.’s Industry Insider TV Pilot competition.”

In 2018, a well-known veteran black actor had signed on to the role of the grandfather — but then he passed away. And several established producers in LA were giving me advice on revisions and had a keen interest in it — all of it came to a grinding halt with the scamdemic.

However, one of the most memorable moments of my life: I was riding in the front seat of a convertible on the LA freeway with the writer/producer Ken Rotcop (he has since passed away, also in 2018) and he was talking to me about “Cleveland’s Burning”. He was at the wheel, driving, looking at me, smiling, the wind in his hair. And I was looking back at him, wondering how I managed to be in a convertible with Ken Rotcop on the LA Freeway. And he said, “You’re a really great writer, you know that? I mean it.”

Just that moment. It is seared into my memory, gang.

Anyway. I digress.

So I finally got the GREAT idea for how to adapt “Cleveland’s Burning” with Sandra as the lead in a theatrical version. Even though the stakes would be very high.

I immediately called her. She and I are production partners in all things theatrical. (“Blood On the Floor Productions” is not the actual name of our production company but it will suffice until we decide on something better.)

She was on a zoom call with Soulpepper in Toronto, the first production crew meeting. She was stressed out. She let me listen to part of the zoom call. It was intense — meaning — this is really happening, gang. The crew is getting ready to mount the show!

Then I said to her, “I know you’re really stressed out right now but I also know I won’t be able to discuss this with you for the next few months, so I just wanted to run this by you.”

I explained my idea to her. She only partially understood it, but she said okay. She would do it.

Then I told her to just forget about all of it for now and concentrate on the “The Guide to Being Fabulous” .

And she laughed and said, “Shit, I just said yes to this, didn’t I?”

“Yes, you did.”

And that was pretty much my entire pitch to her. But I know it’s an incredible idea. I just have to write it.

Okay, gang. I gotta get moving here.

Enjoy your Friday, wherever you are in the world.

Thanks for visiting. I love you guys. See ya!!

Sort of the “theme song” to “Cleveland’s Burning.” I’ve posted it here a few times, but here it is again!!! Enjoy!!
