For some reason, I always forget until the last minute that Crazeysburg always has their 4th of July fireworks before the actual 4th of July.

Last evening was so beautiful, gang. It stopped raining around dinnertime, then cooled down considerably in the evening. And I decided to sit back down at my desk for just a few minutes before doing yoga — and then, suddenly, I was at my desk for about an hour and hadn’t done yoga at all. And the sun had gone down and I noticed that there was way more traffic than we ever have here, especially at night, And people were walking around outside — laughing, chatting; all of it drifting up through my open windows. And my neighbors had their little girls out in their backyard — and they never do that after the sun is down.

And so I thought: Is tonight the fireworks??!!

And then — BOOM BOOM BOOM.

Wow!

So I turned off the computer and hurried out to my kitchen porch.

I can see all the fireworks from the ballfield easily from my kitchen porch.

What a beautiful night!!! There were fireflies everywhere, it was about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The sky was clear, stars were out. And the fireworks filled the sky, exploding high up above the tops of the trees.

But then I ended up staying awake about 2 hours later than I normally do, because of all the noise and activity out on the street. So I’m sort of scrambling here this morning.

There is not a whole lot to report. And I’m expecting that it will be a somewhat quiet weekend for news, at least here in the U S because of the holiday. (Tr ***p is supposed to be doing a big Independence Day-type rally on Saturday night, though.)

But I will still check in to the blog. And I am hoping to have 1954 Powder Blue Pick Up and Half-Moon Bride re-published over the long holiday weekend, so I will keep you posted on that.
