Just Checking in!

This will be a short one, gang.

I didn’t want to go 2 days in a row without at least stopping in, but I am exhausted! Yay!

I have no clue why. I had a great day yesterday. I slept great last night. I worked about 7 hours at the train station last evening, then drove home (25 miles) in a torrential downpour — thunder, lightning, high winds, the works. And for most of that drive, there are no streetlights at all — just pitch darkness. Except when lightning suddenly cracks open the whole sky.

But anyway. It wasn’t that big of a deal, really. So I’m not really sure why I’m so tired today. But on we go!

Stuff is going on in my private life that I can’t blog about. But it is sufficient to say, that it is very interesting, indeed, gang. If/when it becomes something I can blog about, I will.

Other than that, I’m still working on my many works-in-progress. And my Zazzle store is almost ready! And also, please feel free to visit MarilynsRoomsBooks.com. Even though it’s still in-progress, too; it is up and running.

Oh– tomorrow’s my big day! I turn 63. If you are into numerology, it is my “9” year — that incredible year of completion. Not only does 6+3=9 (63), but my birthday this year equals the 9-year completion cycle (7+22+2023). Plus, my overall number is 9 (7+22+1960).

So this is a really big year for me. I’m super excited about it.

Meanwhile, Sandra and I still have ALL of Act Two to get into shape before rehearsals begin on September 18th. So I’m a wee bit stressed about that, but we’ll do it. I wish I could feel more joy about it right now, but at this particular juncture, it’s just stress & deadlines.

Here’s some stuff!

The Ten Commandments series continues–

And other than that, I will add this. From a friend last night:

And this, from the same friend:

The Hollywood Vampires cancelled yet another show at the last minute yesterday — this time, Slovakia. However, this time they released a statement saying that:

“Upon arrival today to the venue in Slovakia to begin to set-up for tonight’s performance, it quickly became clear that the construction of the facility was incomplete, and therefore unsafe for both the band and the general public.”

They also said everyone in the band was fine. And they will be moving on to the show in Poland tomorrow. Still no public explanation about why they cancelled the show in Budapest, though.

Okay. I’m gonna scoot.

Have a great Friday, wherever you are in the world, gang.

Thanks for visiting.

I love you guys. See ya!

I leave you with my having-coffee-in-bed-listening-music from this morning!!

“Waiting for the End of the World”. From one of my favorite albums, ever: My Aim Is True, by Elvis Costello, 1977.

For some reason, for the past several days, I have found myself singing this song, every morning when I wake up. Meaning, before my eyes are even open, the song is in my head. And I haven’t listened to this particular song in years.

So today, I decided to listen to the song again, and wound up listening to the whole album, while having my coffee in bed. And I still LOVE IT. And so I share it! Enjoy!

“Waiting For The End Of The World”

The man from the television crawled into the train.
I wonder who he’s gonna stick it in this time.
Everyone was looking for a little entertainment,
so they’ll probably pull his hands off
when they find out his name.
And then they shut down the power all along the line,
and we got stuck in the tunnel where no lights shine.
They got to touching all the girls were to scared to call out.
Nobody was saying anything at all.
We were waiting for the end of the world,
waiting for the end of the world,
waiting for the end of the world.
Dear Lord I sincerely hope you’re coming
’cause you really started something.

Things got back to normal as the train began to roll again.
We got to the station about twenty minutes later.
The legendary hitchhiker says that he knows where it’s at.
Now he’d like to go to Spain or somewhere like that,
with his two-tone Bible and his funny cigarettes,
his suntan lotion and his castanets.

He was waiting for the end of the world,
waiting for the end of the world,
waiting for the end of the world.
Dear Lord I sincerely hope you’re coming
’cause you really started something.

And then the bride, the groom, the congregation and the priest
all got onto the train when we were three stations east, yeah.
Hiding from a scandal in the national press,
they had been trying to get married since they stole the wedding dress.
You may see them drowning as you stroll along the beach,
but don’t throw out the lifeline till they’re clean out of reach.

c – 1977 Elvis Costello
