So far, it’s been a great birthday, gang!! In every way.
The most incredible weather, just so beautiful — I had to go to the post office to pick up a registered birthday delivery from my ex-husband in Seattle.
And so I walked there — it’s only about a 5 minute-walk to the post office (or to anywhere in Crazeysburg). And this strange little 200-year-old village is just so beautiful to me. Today, especially. Such perfect weather.
And getting the birthday gift from Foun Kee really just made my heart smile.
It was early enough that none of the neighbors were really out and about yet. Usually, on the weekends, everyone’s out in their yards. So this morning, it was so peaceful. I just felt so blessed.
And I got a few really nice little “Happy Birthdays” from people who follow me on Instagram.
Plus, my new friend in Istanbul texted me first thing this morning, and just kind of blew me away… We’ll see, gang. We’ll just see.
In the meantime, he also sent me this, which I find just incredibly lovely, on so many different levels, after so many decades of living:
“Hollow Years”
He’s just the kind of man
You hear about
Who leaves his family for
An easy out
They never saw the signs
He never said a word
He couldn’t take another day
Carry me to the shoreline
Bury me in the sand
Walk me across the water
And maybe you’ll understand
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Is lifted off your shoulders
Once the cloud that’s raining
Over your head disappears
The noise that you’ll hear
Is the crashing down of hollow years
She’s not the kind of girl
You hear about
She’ll never want another
She’ll never be without
She’ll give you all the signs
She’ll tell you everything
Then turn around and walk away
Carry me to the shoreline
Bury me in the sand
Walk me across the water
And maybe you’ll understand
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Is lifted off your shoulders
Once the cloud that’s raining
Over your head disappears
The noise that you’ll hear
Is the crashing down of hollow years
Carry me to the shoreline
Bury me in the sand (into the waves)
Walk me across the water
And maybe you’ll understand
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Is lifted off your shoulders
Once the cloud that’s raining
Over your head disappears
The noise that you’ll hear
Is the crashing down of hollow years
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
(The sound that you’ll hear)
(Is the crashing down of hollow years)

And that’s it for now. I do have to go to the train station this afternoon. I decided that whoever comes by this evening for cocktails and charcuterie, will be stopping in because it’s my birthday. I mean this on a spiritual level. They obviously won’t know it’s my birthday. but I will. And it will be so interesting to me to see who shows up!!
Okay. Tomorrow I will not be posting here because it’s my dad’s birthday and I’ll be making another trip down to see him.
Enjoy my birthday today! Wherever you are in the world!!
Thanks for visitng.
I love you guys. See ya!
