A Rainy Thursday in the Hinterlands

So. not only is there not a lot of news out there, but the stuff that is out there is getting more and more depressing.

Anyway. Here is Charlie’s daily news update.

CHARLIE WARD DAILY NEWS WITH PAUL BROOKER & DREW DEMI -THURSDAY 22ND FEBRUARY 2024 (6 mins):

Unfortunately, these days there’s more and more sad news out there if you were vaxxed. Here’s just one item —

Snity4Sweden – ASSANGE, GOOD NEWS SWE MEDIA, RED CROSS ASKING QUESTION TO BLOOD DONORS, ARGENTINA (5 mins):

*************

Another one —

AN APOLOGY FROM A VACCINE CENTER MANAGER. (1 minute):

Very interesting information here.

Nigel Watson (UK) – The House of Nonsense ( 5mins):

That’s really it, gang. Mostly, I’ve just got this horrible feeling of angst. But we’ll just have to sit tight and wait and see.

On the home front —

I’m busy getting that 1-page synopsis together for the screen adaptation of “The Guide to Being Fabulous”. I hope to have it done by Monday. (I head back to the train station tonight.) Then a 5 or 6 page screenplay treatment, after I finish that.

And, as I hinted at yesterday, Abstract Absurdity Productions is back on track with weekly conference calls. It’s yielding more work for us than you can possibly imagine — creating a podcast, blog, mini series, in addition to actually making our micro-short films. But all of it is stuff I love that really makes me laugh. And heaven knows I need that these days.

I will keep you posted on the details as I can. What I can tell you, though, is that now that our home office is based in the South of France, I have a ton of work to do on my French. Meaning, getting better at speaking it and, most importantly, understanding French people when they are speaking! It’s like a whole other foreign language!!

I still have the mondly app on my phone, but I also signed up for Lingopie for a year (a cool site where you learn a foreign language by watching that specific country’s TV shows and movies). And I also discovered these free French lessons on YouTube that I’m really enjoying–

French in Plain Sight – here’s an example:

Do you know these BACKWARDS French expressions? (6 mins):

So, yes, I’ve got my hands full, but I’m not complaining. And I even had a chance to chat with my best friend, Val in Brooklyn, last night. Well, she wasn’t in Brooklyn — she was up at her other house in Haverstraw, for a family funeral. But we had a great chat last night and laughed a lot, which we hadn’t been able to do for a couple of weeks.

Oh, and what else is special about Haverstraw, NY?

Jim Carroll was buried at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Haverstraw, NY, where his parents are also buried.”

Yes, Val grew up next door to the Carrolls — another family of Irish Catholics who left the city for someplace quieter.

The late New York City poet, Jim Carroll

Anyway.

Have a good Thursday, wherever you are in the world.

Thanks for visiting.

I love you guys. See ya!

I leave you with this today. Thought-provoking, isn’t it??
