The sun was out and it was in the high 70s Fahrenheit. I was worried that I’d be overdressed in my new flowered sundress, until Kara showed up at the Mexican restaurant, fresh from attending a violin recital, looking STUNNING, and suddenly I was under-dressed….
It was so great to finally see her and be able to relax and chat and not be in a hurry to run somewhere.
And the movie, Jeanne Du Barry, was just beautiful, gang. From start to finish. Incredible cinematography, great acting, intense story. What a magnificent achievement for Maiwenn. I won’t say the film was “wonderful” because there was a lot to it that was sad, disturbing, and worse, but it was just a beautiful film from start to finish. (And without spoiling it for you — there was a lot at the end that Kara was really shedding some tears over. I got a little misty-eyed, but I don’t really cry that easily anymore.)
Here is the cinema– my first time in an actual cinema in 7 years, and I had not been to this particular one in about 15 years:
It’s too bad that I spend an hour driving, each way, otherwise I might go back to that place more often.
But overall, just a really nice night out.

I guess we just have to dig in for the long haul, gang. I have now accepted that my houseguests will likely remain homeless until things change in January. (They are on every waiting list in the county for housing for low income people with disabilities, and there are about 5-6 families in front of them on every list.)
I’m just blessed that I have my house, that it’s affordable, and that it’s big enough for them to at least have their own room and bathroom.
I’m not able to invest any more money in silver, because the cost of everything is going through the roof, but if you are able to invest in silver and gold at all, then, gang, please do it.
