A Lovely Memorial Day Weekend is Upon Us!

The weather today is once again PERFECT. And it’s doubly perfect because it’s a holiday weekend here in the States.

The flowers I planted on Wednesday are looking great already. And making me so happy.

And the herbs I planted this year –basil, parsley, cilantro, oregano, and mint — are absolutely incredible. Not just growing great, but they smell and taste like they’re supposed to — this year, I bought them as starter plants from local farms and it has made all the difference.

And the two rose bushes I planted a couple of weeks ago — well, one of them did great from the very beginning, but the 2nd one looked practically dead until YESTERDAY (!!) when I noticed it was finally starting to sprout some leaves and I am so incredibly happy about that.

And in other good news — my houseguests have found a sort of “temporary new home”. A friend’s place in town, because they can no longer afford the gas it takes to do all that constant driving to town and back.

Their adorable little cats will remain here until “whenever,” and I’m okay with that, for now. I’m just excited that I will have some space to myself this summer. So, come visit!!
