Seriously. I did not know they were giving me an entirely new ceiling in my kitchen and bathroom. I thought they were only repairing the parts that were damaged by water leaks. So I am just thrilled.
The guys are downstairs right now, putting in the new ceilings, and it should take all day.
And the lawncare guy is outside right now, keeping my yard looking incredible again.
And the new roof is finished and they did a fantastic job. It looks really great.
Last night, I checked the weather app before I went up to bed and it said a 20% chance of rain at 2 AM — my knee-jerk reaction was to go fetch the buckets. But THEN!!! I realized that I didn’t have to do that anymore. What a cool feeling, gang.
I feel like I’ve gotten my house back — the one I bought in 2018.

The past couple days have been full of such extremes.
I went to the bank yesterday, which is at the other end of 3rd Street and saw all the disaster from the tornado that hit at that end of the street.
It is just so heartbreaking, gang. It is so hard to process it, how one house can be completely fine and another house, completely gone. And almost all the old trees that lined 3rd Street are also completely gone.
And there are so many houses that had their roofs blown completely off, and yet here I was, getting a brand-new roof yesterday, for free, that had nothing to do with the tornado.
The timing of it feels so weird, even though I’ve needed a new roof for 3 years already.
And then, last evening, the guy called who is replacing the ceilings in my kitchen and bathroom, and he said that he’s coming TODAY to do that, not Monday. So that is more amazing news.
But then, at 6 AM this morning, I went outside to water the plants because I couldn’t get to them yesterday with the roofers everywhere. One of my brand-new little rose bushes had its first bloom getting ready to blossom, so I wanted to check on that — and that rose bush is completely GONE. There is just a hole in the ground where it used to be yesterday.
It broke my heart and I wanted to cry — but then I thought about all the destruction 2 streets away and I had to remind myself that it was just a little rose bush…
Then when I texted the roofer asking if he knew what had happened to it, he said they are replacing it for me because it got crushed.
Well, I guess everything is all about perspective today, isn’t it?

Yesterday was so intense. When I finally got to see the damage done by the tornado touching down over on 3rd Street, my heart broke. The damage is unbelievable. I was basically in shock all morning.
Then right as I was leaving for the train station, I got a phone call — from the roofer!! Saying that TODAY, I was getting my new roof!
And sure enough. they are here right now. There are quite a lot of them and they are all over the place. And I almost cannot believe that after 3 years of putting out more and more buckets every time it rained, I am finally getting that new roof, at absolutely no cost to me. The county pays for it all. (NESARA, anyone? The local government is allegedly strapped for funds… hmmmm).
And then early next week, they are replacing the ceilings in my kitchen and downstairs bathroom, and installing a new ceiling fan!!
All things considered, I guess this is going to be the best summer.
Yesterday was supposed to be the start of the annual homecoming celebration here in the village. That’s when they close off the block in front of our tiny City Hall and set up carnival rides and games. And there’s one evening of live music, and that whole celebration goes on for a few evenings. But after the tornado hit yesterday, they decided to cancel it, even though all the rides were already set up.
Well, last night, when I came home from the train station, about 10 PM, lo & behold, all the rides where whirling around, all the carnival lights were on, the music was playing — and the rides were full of kids!!
It broke my heart in the best way to come home to that. I was so glad they decided to start the celebrations anyway. I think those kids (and maybe their parents, too) really needed that.

In other news–
I will be self-publishing a short erotic novella (or novelette?) soon. I’m just waiting for Val in Brooklyn to design the book cover.
The novella, A Man in her Arms, has never been published before — if I am remembering correctly. It was supposed to be published for the first time in my collection from Alyson Books, Lust: Bisexual Erotica by Marilyn Jaye Lewis, in 2004. But it was pulled at the last minute because it was too long and didn’t fit the tone of the other stories included in that collection.
(If I remember anything at all about it, I think I actually wrote it in 2002, only because I recall that Linda, my business partner back then in the Erotic Book Society.com, read it and gave me good feedback on it.)
I came across the story while looking for something to post on my substack account. I had remembered it being a regular erotic short story — actually, I didn’t remember much about it at all. But when I re-read it, I discovered that it was 50 pages long. I like the story a lot so I decided to go ahead and publish it.
It will probably just be an eBook, since it is too short to put in print. But I’m thinking I will put together a print collection of short novellas under one cover — for readers who prefer books over eBooks.
I’ll let you know when it’s available.

Another oldie but absolute goodie that I’ve been listening to lately! I love this song. Except that, well, now I’m old.... hmmm.
Even though I am, overall, feeling really happy about my life, there is still that unexpected current of free-floating anxiety that pops up when I am least expecting it.
Part of it is this new responsibility of having the young cats to look after indefinitely, but most of it comes from this dual-reality that is coming at us full-bore right now.
If you’ve followed Q for any amount of time (for me it’s been 4 years), or the Truther movement, then you know there is another reality that has been taking place underneath what most people are seeing. But now, suddenly, the dual-reality is just very heightened.
I.e., Hunter Biden’s trial getting underway, when we have been told that he already committed suicide. And his father, the alleged president, is making public comments about supporting his son, when the father was executed in 2019… And the Fauci hearing, when we know he’s at least been under arrest, if not taken care of, for a while already, too.
And then the Hollywood stuff is the worst. When I skim through any current issue of the Hollywood Reporter, which still arrives in my mailbox, like, every 16 seconds — it is filled with optics that make me insane. The most recent being an upcoming movie festival where Hillary Clinton is a key speaker, and she was executed a long time ago, too.
But sound-asleep people in the industry are going to pay good money to go hear “her” speak, without knowing it’s just an actor talking and that the the real version of this woman was not only a monster, but one of the most atrocious people to walk the Earth since Roman times.
And that’s just one example among many.
Anyway. It gets very frustrating because I am currently very involved in two separate industry projects — a streamer TV Pilot/series, and a play and movie adaptation of the play — where I have to create and sort of be a part of a community of people who are not at all awake.
Anyway. That reminds me! I discovered yesterday that one of the musical plays that our musical play (The Guide to Being Fabulous) is up against in the Dora Awards in Toronto is one of my favorite newer musicals!! Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812!!!
Wow, gang. As I posted here recently, we are not really thinking we will win in our category, but to see that we are nominated alongside an incredible musical like Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 is such a thrill for me!!

Today should be the final day of cleaning in my guestroom!! I am seriously excited about getting that room sort of back to normal, although there are things that need repairing that will have to wait for awhile.

I was at the train station last night when I saw the verdict on my phone, and I actually chuckled. But then I turned to my co-worker, who is in her 70s, awake and a Trump supporter, but she doesn’t follow any Truthers or anything. And I said, “Trump just got convicted but don’t worry.”
Right away, she got very alarmed and upset. But I convinced her not to worry, that it wasn’t what it looked like.
So, in the event you have people around you who support Trump & America but are not part of the movement, just assure them that this is going to play out in a GOOD way.

Tomorrow, Wayne (my ex- in NYC), turns 70. He is not having a party or doing anything at all, even though he’s not unhappy about the birthday or anything like that.
This morning, I was thinking that, if we were still married, there would be a big party — friends would come over, we would cook great food, bake a fancy cake, there would be presents and a lot of laughter. But time moves on.
