Well, happy Saturday, gang!

It is yet another splendid day here in Crazeysburg, plus it’s that annual weekend in June, where the street in front of our “city hall” (which is actually the smallest building you can possibly imagine). Anyway, there is a “homecoming” event and they set up rides for the kids and live music, etc, in front of city hall and they block off the street.

It is not a school-sports-related “homecoming”, but a town homecoming, where people who are connected to Crazeysburg in some way, return and do whatever.

It is the perfect weather for this event and the energy in the air in the evening is just great. Everyone’s happy. And the young people– you know, they are just doing that thing young people have always done in June, which I just love.

Last evening, I was sitting on my kitchen porch, playing with a cat who had come to visit me — a really lovely Maine Coon calico with big white feet(!!)– and I saw a young girl across the road, all by herself, on her way to the festivities. She couldn’t have been more than 15. She had long brown hair, she was slender, and was wearing a simple sundress and a pair of sandals. Just the prettiest thing. So quiet and all alone. On her way to break some hearts and she likely had no real clue.

We actually have a lot of young people, and small children, here in Crazeysburg. Which I think is really cool, since it is such a small village (1300 people in the actual village, but this does not count all the surrounding farms, which cover many, many, many acres, extending way up into the hills). It just shows that, more frequently now, people don’t move away. They stay and raise their chiuldren here.

Okay.

The news is the usual bunch of junk today. A lot of it bad news, and a lot of it lies and subterfuge — on all fronts. It does, indeed, get tiring. However, I am still hanging in there. Mostly because of this guy–
