Stopping by for a quick update!

Life is still a little topsy-turvy here, gang. The weekend at the train station just about killed me. Wow, were we busy. It was really just off-the-charts. Everybody in town was looking for a reason to get the holiday spirit underway.

I am recovering from complete exhaustion and “collapse-ation” — a new word, which implies that I collapsed but managed to get back up!

We might get the Christmas decorations up around here today (!!), but I’m leaning toward seriously doubting it. (I have some houseguests here now indefinitely, and they are trying to get their lives settled in, too.)

Anyway. Here I am.

Nick Cave sent out a really beautiful Red Hand File the other day, regarding the death of Shane MacGowan. He said, in part:

“Shane was blessed with an uncommon spirit of goodness and a deep sense of what is true, which was strangely amplified in his brokenness, his humanness. We can say of him most certainly, ‘he was beloved on the earth,’ and Sinéad too — truly beloved and greatly missed, both.”
