Still Sitting it Out!!

Wow, so, if you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, you probably know what I’m thinking right now…. so I will continue to make no comment.

Meanwhile, though, I am very curious to see who the VP pick will be on July 17th (Q, anyone?), and I’m really hoping it will still be General Flynn but we’ll see how it goes.

Nick Cave had a really beautiful Red Hand File today, but for some reason, they haven’t uploaded it to the site yet. (When they do, it will be here.)

He gives advice to a teenager who is painfully missing a lost love. In part, Nick replied:

I’m sorry you miss your friend, Hajra, but I am pleased that in your temporary pain (your heart will mend in time) you have not rejected the world but live inside its broken poetry. This distressing but sometimes necessary place teaches us that, as you so powerfully put it, ‘this matrix is worthwhile’. This is as lovely a thought as it is possible to have….”

Other than that — I’m off to City Hall to pay my enormous water bill, then to the bank to deposit money to cover that payment for the enormous water bill (you’d think I’d do it the other way around, but since the buildings are 3 seconds apart, I stop at the building that is first on my path!!), then I will sit at my desk and work on the screenplay.

Gang, Sandra and I made such great progress yesterday and I am just really, really getting very excited about this screenplay adaptation for our play (The Guide to being Fabulous).

I think it’s safe to post now that HBO has asked Sandra to come back for Season 3 of their popular series, The Gilded Age (she was in Season 1), and Sandra agreed. She starts filming her scenes in a few weeks.

She also signed on for a limited run play at Playwrights Horizons in NYC that begins rehearsals in September, and our staged reading for The Guide to being Fabulous will be in October in NYC (during the run of the other play), so we are just — you know, we have a ton of work to do as her schedule gets extremely crammed.

But I’m excited!!

If you’re interested in stuff like this — more research for the screenplay. I watched this film yesterday — The Queen, from 1968. I loved it. It’s a documentary about drag queens and so very 1968!
