End of Summer in the Hinterlands??

Can you believe the kids here go back to school on Tuesday, and the kids in the next county over, already went back to school??

I saw a school bus dropping kids off for home yesterday afternoon. Unreal.

Back when I was in school, in Ohio no one went back to school until after Labor Day (still 2 weeks away).

Boomers were just fucking lucky. Even in the midst of the sex revolution, the war protests, the peace marches, the drugs, drugs, drugs, we had the best childhoods.

Good news!!

The food at Harvest Pizzeria in Granville is still fantastic. Dennis and I had such a great time there yesterday. (My only complaint was that the time FLEW.)

I also discovered that I have really, really happy memories when I’m inside that place. It was my first time going back there in over a year.

It’s like the agonizing pain my legs endured because of the concrete floors never even existed. I only remember how great it was to work there. (For 3 months, 2 and a half years ago…)

Anyway, Dennis and I had a great time.

Next up–

We haven’t picked a day or time yet, but we decided we’re going to the fantastic clubhouse at the local golf course with the great views!! (Where I go with my favorite nearly-95-year-old-Japanese client.) (Dennis has been there before.)

It will be so fun to go there on an actual date! (And yes, even though we spent 2 hours together yesterday afternoon, we still spent an additional 2 and a 1/2 hours on the phone last night!!)

And here’s this!

The set list from the 2nd night of Nick Cave’s solo show in Latvia was even better! Check out that encore!! Wow. A one-way ticket to Swoonsville!!

And then this was announced (everywhere) yesterday:

Yesterday, there was a link to the above mentioned song, but now I cannot find a working link for it. But it was rather haunting!!

And Monday — this is happening!

Bobbie McGee and Freddie McFee have their introductory trip to the new vet, in order to get them appointments to get neutered.

And it can’t come a moment too soon, gang. They are both getting super FRISKY. And I have 6 — count ’em SIX— un-spayed females in the house.

I had hoped to get them signed up with that vet out here near me, but there was a waiting list to become a new patient. So…. since time is of the essence, as they say, it’s back to Granville, where I seem to do just about everything in my life.

Okay. I think that’s kind of it for right now.

It’s a really, really gorgeous day here today. I have four shifts between now and Sunday evening, but ALL of the clients are my favorites!! So that is nice.

Enjoy your Friday, wherever you are in the world.

Thanks for visiting.

I love you guys. See ya!

How about I leave you with this?? As a sort of Latvian encore!!

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, “Love Letter”, from the iconic album No More Shall We Part, 2001. Such a beautiful song!! I never get tired of it. Enjoy, gang.

"Love Letter"

I hold this letter in my hand
A plea, a petition, a kind of prayer
I hope it does as I have planned
Losing her again is more than I can bear

I kiss the cold, white envelope
I press my lips against her name
Two hundred words
We live in hope
The sky hangs heavy with rain

Love Letter, love letter
Go get her, go get her
Love Letter, love letter
Go tell her, go tell her

A wicked wind whips up the hill
A handful of hopeful words
I love her and I always will
The sky is ready to burst

Said something I did not mean to say
Said something I did not mean to say
Said something I did not mean to say
It all came out the wrong way

Love Letter, love letter
Go get her, go get her
Love Letter, love letter
Go tell her, go tell her

Rain your kisses down upon me
Rain your kisses down in storms
And for all who'll come before me
In your slowly fading forms

I'm going out of my mind
Will leave me standing in
The rain with a letter and a prayer
Whispered on the wind

Come back to me
Come back to me
O baby please come back to me

c - 2001 Nick Cave
