I just spent the last 50 minutes working on the blog post while waiting on the AC install guys (who just called and said they should be here in 10 minutes), when suddenly my wi-fi glitched and the entire post I was working on disappeared….
Yay.
I guess I will just cut to the chase and not try to re-write what I had just written…
I did want to at least mention that the “screenwriting” webinar I took yesterday afternoon was nothing at all like what I thought I had signed up for.
I won’t say it was a “waste of time” but it was a class for fiction writers, about how to use the art of screenwriting to help you write better fiction.
It wasn’t anything I didn’t already know. But since I had paid for it, and had also taken an afternoon off from work in order to take it, I listened to the whole thing. But wow.
I suppose I need a webinar about how to comprehend descriptions of webinars…

Okay.
Here’s this.
Keith at Redlands in 1968. (I get the impression he is spiritually signaling my wee bonny 8-year-old self at that time, that he’ll be coming into my life soon and that my life will never be the same again!)

And here’s this.
Keith and Charlie, arriving for that rehearsal in Rotterdam in 1973!

And here’s this!
That photo of Keith in the 1400s!

And here’s this!
From Phyllis Stein!
Mick, Bill and Andy in NYC in 1980!

Iggy, last night at Coachella!

And here’s this…
Nick Cave in June of 1984, wondering where he got those magazines:

All righty.
AC install guy is here (only one guy this time!).
I’ve already had a very good chat with Sandra. (I’m supposed to hear back from her later today, about when to expect my life to go into overdrive, writing-wise…)
And all my housecleaning got done yesterday, so pretty soon here, I will have the rest of the day to myself!! (I’m seriously hoping it’s going to be a relaxing, non-fucked-up day!)
Meanwhile, have a nice Monday wherever you are in the world.
Thanks for visiting.
I love you guys. See ya!

I leave you with this!
Breakfast-listening music from this morning!!
For some reason, after having heard this song about maybe a zillion times before, this morning it occurred to me that this song is very much like Kerouac’s novel, On the Road.
Anyway.
“America,” by Simon & Garfunkel. From the album, Bookends. 1968. Enjoy, gang.
“America”
Let us be lovers
We’ll marry our fortunes together
I’ve got some real estate
Here in my bag
So we bought a pack of cigarettes
And Mrs. Wyler pies
And walked off
To look for America
“Kathy”, I said
As we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh
Michigan seems like a dream to me now
It took me four days
To hitch-hike from Saginaw
“I’ve come to look for America”
Laughing on the bus
Playing games with the faces
She said the man in the gabardine suit
Was a spy
I said, “Be careful
His bow tie is really a camera”
“Toss me a cigarette
I think there’s one in my raincoat”
We smoked the last one
So I looked at the scenery
She read her magazine
And the moon rose over an open field
“Kathy, I’m lost”, I said
Though I knew she was sleeping
“I’m empty and aching and
I don’t know why”
Counting the cars
On the New Jersey Turnpike
They’ve all come
To look for America
All come to look for America
All come to look for America
c – 1968 Paul Simon
