Happy Memorial Day!

If you live State-side, I hope you enjoy your Memorial Day in whatever way you celebrate!

Around here, people get in their campers and head out to the hills, lakes, peaceful places.

It’s not very warm today, but it’s really sunny. So that helps.

Beautiful Ohio!

If you’re a long-time reader of this lofty blog, you no doubt recall that most of the men in my family — going back to the Revolutionary War, served in the military and usually served in one war or another.

If I wasn’t working today (a double, no less), I would at least make a trip to the local cemetery. But it’s not happening today.

**************

Yes!

Yesterday was my “day off”! And I got a ton of writing done. Mostly on the play, for Sandra to go over. Then some work on the TV series. Obviously, there is still a ton of work yet to do, but I was able to fall asleep last night knowing that I had gotten a lot accomplished.

Today, I won’t be writing. Today, I’m focusing on just being present. And compassionate. And emotionally flexible. The client I have later today is the one who is in the facility and rapidly declining from extreme cognitive impairment. It can get extremely challenging. (He can get combative, physical, abusive. And you never know when he will suddenly get triggered and slip into that.)

The agency told me the other day that I could remove that client from my schedule if I wanted to, but I don’t want to. He’s the one that, when I first met him, I had the profound impression that I recognized him, that I knew him from somewhere, even though I didn’t. And then HE responded, upon meeting me, that he recognized me, too. Even though he is beyond being able to recognize people from his own family.

I feel that there is a higher connection there, though, you know? That we must recognize each other for some higher reason. This deterioration has got to be so frustrating, scary, confusing for him on some deep level. I don’t want to just abandon him. I don’t want to just walk away. I want to at least be present for him on this final path of his journey.

We’ll see how it goes.

*****************

Also, yesterday–

Perhaps you recall that, several weeks ago, the little girls from next door wanted to sell me a bunch of drooping dandelions and dead flowers because they needed $5 to buy their mom a cake…

Well, they now come around sort of “weekly”. And other kids have joined the little group. They can’t be more than 7 or 8 years old. It’s hard to say. But they come to my kitchen door around dinner time on Sundays, and they have their usual bouquet of weeds….

But now I don’t take the bouquet, I just ask them how much money they need and what they need it for.

They usually ask for $2 (even if it’s all in quarters!!). And they need it for candy, or nail polish, etc. etc.

I happily give it to them and quietly hope that they aren’t buying drugs or anything (although the pot can’t call the kettle black on that score — but I was a little older than 7 or 8 when that started going on in my life!!) (I was 12.).

At this point, I’m sure their parents have no clue that they’re getting money from me all the time now. (And I have no clue, now, who some of their parents even are.) And since I never had children of my own, I feel like this is God’s way of letting me experience giving kids their weekly allowance money!! It’s too funny.

I am curious, though, where it’s going to lead, or end… And I’m guessing I’m getting a reputation in the village for not only being a crazy cat lady, but also for being someone who’ll just give you money — all you have to do is ask!

(I can’t help it, though. I absolutely love kids.)

Okay, here’s this!

I love this photo!! The Rolling Stones!! They did “mod” like nobody’s business!

And here’s one of the culprits in action!!

And here’s this!!!

Two more great random photos of Nick Cave from Instagram. (It’s hard to just sit here and wait for the next tour to start (June 10th — Buy tickets here!!), so I guess I’ll just keep posting anyway.)

And that’s it! I gotta scoot!!

Enjoy your Monday/Memorial Day, wherever you are in the world!!

Wow!

Look what’s queued up on my playlist for driving to town!!

I loved this album when it first came out!! And when I put this record on my record player for the first time (a weekday morning, I was 17 and in high school), and when THIS SONG came on for the first time, everything in my entire being soared to the stratosphere!!

I immediately called the attendance office at the school, pretended to be my mother (who was at work) and called myself in sick for the day. I had to listen to this song repeatedly!! Everything else in the world stopped.

“Miracle Man,” by Elvis Costello. From My Aim Is True, 1977. Enjoy, gang!

“Miracle Man”

You never asked me what I wanted. You only asked me why.
I never thought that so much trouble was restin’ on my reply,
I could say it was the nights when I was lonely
and you were the only one who’d come.
I could tell you that I like your sensitivity,
when you know it’s the way that you walk.

[Chorus]:
Why do you have to say that there’s always someone
who can do it better than I can?
But don’t you think that I know that walking on the water
won’t make me a miracle man?

Baby’s gotta have the things she wants.
You know she’s gotta have the things she loves.
She’s got a ten-inch bamboo cigarette holder
and her black patent leather gloves.
And I’m doing everything just tryin’ to please her,
even crawling around on all fours.
Oh, I thought by now that it was gonna be easy,
but she still seems to want for more.

[Chorus]

I hear they’re givin’ you a bad reputation
just because you’ve never been denied.
You try to say you’ve done it all before.
Baby, you know that you just get tired.
Yet everybody loves you so much, girl.
I just don’t know how you stand the strain.
Oh, I, I’m the one who’s here tonight,
and I don’t wanna do it all in vain.

[Chorus]

c – 1977- Elvis Costello

4-3-2-1!

I can’t believe we are only 4 days away from everything we’ve been working relentlessly toward for over four years.

It feels incredible.

Not only that, but it’s sort of been jaw-dropping to watch so many things coming to fruition even before the Inauguration. The ceasefire deal yesterday being a primary one.

And I’m guessing that the moment Trump is sworn in at noon on Monday, the Ukraine craziness will come to an immediate halt.

I guess we’ll see.

Anyway. There is not much to report. We are just sort of barreling toward the next phase — which doesn’t involve me trying to post the news updates anymore, btw. Once Trump is officially back in the White House, my work is done! And my blog will go back to just being my blog.

I am really feeling like 2025 is going to be a great year. I hope it feels the same to you, too, gang.

Not a lot of news today. Just some items of interest.

From Absolute 1776:

“Elon changes his X Handle to “Kekius Maximus” – an obvious reference to Pepe, and the movement. He also changed his PfP to Pepe.

@Kimberlyrja8 had the very nice snag on Q Drop 2347 with “The Picture Will Be The Signifier”.

Shortly after, Elon then posts about leveling up to “Level 80”.

Q Drop 80 states:

“We need to get organized. Things need to be solved to understand what is about to happen”.

Reminder: A couple weeks ago General Flynn handed the title of General Of Digital Soldiers to Elon.

Don’t be shocked if Q goes very mainstream, very soon.”

After my evening shift is over, this is what I will be watching tonight! On video!! Not even on DVD or streaming.

Wim Wenders’ classic, Wings of Desire, from 1987. Yes (!) it has Nick Cave in it, but it is also just a really great film. (6 minute scene):

***********

And on the home front.

Well, as a very unexpected but incredible way to say hello to the New Year, I am back on the TV pilot project with Peitor Angell and our production company, Abstract Absurdity Productions. (I had stepped down from it back in June because my life had become overwhelming and the TV project is actually quite enormous.)

After a couple of phone conversations with Peitor over in Nice, France, the last couple of days, we came to the decision that I would come back to the project — and we start working on it again on Monday, January 6th, 2025.

So I’m pretty happy about this, gang. I’m in a whole other headspace now than I was back in June.

*********

And that is it for today.

I hope that tonight is filled with all sorts of good omens for you for 2025, wherever you are in the world.

And there is THIS!!

Wayne and I might be taking a little road trip together in late April to Pikeville, Kentucky, to see Dwight Yoakam and the Mavericks!!

Pikeville is only about 4 hours from here, and it’s not only the birthplace of Dwight Yoakam, but also the town where a huge portion of my paternal ancestors lived. (The May family.)

Also, while we’re in Pikeville, we might head over to Robinson Creek and take a look around. My great-great-great grandfather founded the town of Robinson Creek, and way back then he lived on the banks of the actual creek.

I leave you with these timeless treasures!!

It’s Already a Terrific Tuesday!

Wow, did I have some great dreams last night, gang. And I woke up just feeling really happy today.

And today is Kara’s birthday, so I’m really looking forward to taking her out to lunch before my afternoon shift. I haven’t seen her since we saw the incredible Andrea Bocelli film.

And I have to say that yesterday’s visit with the insurance guy was actually quite fantastic. Not just because he’s making the whole Medicare Plan B thing a breeze for me, but, most importantly, we focused more on getting me truly affordable Long Term Care/ Assisted Living insurance.

This means that if something happens to me (like I fall and break something), I can now afford to have someone much like myself come in and take care of me every day!!!

Honestly, gang, when I am with my clients it is always in the back of my mind — what am I going to do if I ever need a home health aide? I can’t afford it!! And I know firsthand, what a difference it makes in someone’s life. Being able to stay at home and not have to go into one of those awful places where the poor elderly have to go to either recuperate or die.

My long term coverage starts February 1st (!!). And of course my Medicare starts July 1st. So on we go into the glorious sunset of old age… Actually, it really is a relief to me.

************

Okay. Honestly, gang. NO NEWS. Assuming of course that you ignore the false flags, the false-false flags, the psyops…

Naturally, il donaldo trumpo posted this AGAIN last night. I’m guessing it applies to just about everything going on out there right now–

GONNA NEED MORE POPCORN FOR THIS!!!😎🇺🇸🍿🍿🍿 (20 seconds):

And lastly but not leastly!!

Hope everyone has had a great weekend so far.

Not much to report — if you missed Phil’s livestream about the Christmas cash giveaway, he did briefly mention that on his next live he’ll explain the drones that are all over the place in the US. Check here to stay updated.

But I’m guessing the whole thing is a White Hat psyop to get the sleepers worked up over the fake Biden Administration not giving a hoot about Americans…

And I’m also guessing it’s nothing to worry about, when Trump, himself, posts this:

***********

I only got to see a few moments of the Army – Navy football game yesterday, because I was with a patient, but here are some interesting images from it:

If you don’t live in the US, you might not understand the significance of Daniel Penny. He was recently a victim of NY lawfare but he won.

ALSO:

“Coincidence that the only base they show during the Army-Navy is GUANTANAMO and the Army uniforms resemble a game of HANGMAN??”

Our Daily Feature continues!

What Would Keith Richards Do?

From Chapter Five: Daily Affirmations. The topic today is BEING ALIVE. Keith tells us:

“To me, life is a wild animal. You hope to deal with it when it leaps at you.”

I have to say that I heartily concur!!

************

And that is it for today.

I have one shift later today — a married couple that I adore and they are only a 15-minute drive from here!! Yay. When I get back home, the night is still reasonably young…

But for now, I am going right back to bed. I’m effing exhausted, gang. It’s not that my caregiving job is physically difficult; it is emotionally overwhelming, but in a positive way.

For instance — when I was with the sweet 99-year-old blind lady on Friday night, as I was leaving her bedroom to go home, she called out — “I love you!”

Wow, gang. That stopped me in my tracks. I said, “I love you, too.”

I was raised in a family that NEVER said “I love you.” Never. The only people in my family who have ever said they loved me was my grandma in Cleveland and one of my uncles. My grandma has been gone for 35 years. My uncle, thankfully, is still alive (92) and still tells me he loves me every time we talk on the phone. But even my dad, who recently died and took all the joy right out of my life along with him — he never told me he loved me. Although I know that he did.

Anyway. I don’t want to a sound as if I will take it anywhere I can get it. However, if someone takes the time to tell me, “I love you,” it means the world to me.

And then multiply that moment times every shift I’ve worked since Friday night, and it leaves me exhausted. In a very good, if somewhat confounding, way.

***********

Okay. Enjoy your Sunday, wherever you are in the world!

Thanks for visiting.

I love you guys. See ya!

***********

This morning’s Christmas-listening music!! Still on a Dean Martin binge!! Such a great Christmas album, gang. Enjoy!

Early Sunday Hello!!

However, Phil is planning to be live tonight at 7pm Eastern time!

Other than that —

Happy Birthday, Nick Cave!!! 🎼🎂🎉💖🥰

Okay. Thanks for visiting!! I gotta scoot!!!

Now she’s gotta watch that stupid thing!

You probably saw Phil’s post from last evening — he re-scheduled his livestream for tonight so that we can all watch the (fake) debate together.

I was not planning on watching that debate, but I guess, now I will. Or as much of it as I can stand.

I’m guessing Phil will go live right when the debate gets underway, but confirm that later at the above link.

An interesting summary of Alan Dershowitz. Posted to Charlie Ward‘s channel.

🍿 Let’s connect some dots here to show that Alan Dershowitz has been put into submission and is working for Trump and the Military.

👉 We know Dershowitz was a lifelong Democrat

👉 We know Dershowitz was Jeffrey Epstein’s defense attorney.

👉 We know Dershowitz was on the Epstein Island list that Q posted in drop #4577

👉 We know Dershowitz was outed by the Epstein Island victims in their testimony as having received “massages” on the Island.

👉 On April 11, 2018 Q posted:

Thank you ALAN.
Welcome aboard.
Freedom!

👉👉 Therefore I do believe we have received a clear of evidence that points to the fact that Alan Dershowitz was put into submission way back in 2018, hence his turn towards Trump after being against him in the 2016 election cycle.

Remember he defended Trump in the 2020 impeachment trial.

Now he’s suddenly “leaving the Democrat party”.

This morning, at 10AM, I have to be glued to my laptop for about 3 chaotic minutes, because that’s when those pre-sale tickets for Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds in Columbus on May 2nd will go on sale.

I hate these types of things because the tickets sellout in a nanosecond so you have to just click on any tickets you can see and hope that they will still be available.

It’s a frenzy. And then it’s over.

After that, I have a new patient for the rest of the day. I was reading over her care assessment notes last night and I noticed what could be a typo — the notes claim she is 4 inches tall!!!

I’m guessing it was supposed to read: 5’4″ and only the 4″ part made it onto the form. But if she is only 4 inches tall, my job today will be a piece of cake!!!

So I checked to see what it was and — lo! & behold — I had forgotten this was even on my wish list! It’s been on there for years. Literally. So I thought, wow, I should buy that! And I did.

It arrived yesterday from a record store in the UK.

Wow, gang. Is this a beautiful, beautiful recording. I am so happy I finally bought it.

Today, I’m making a quick trip into town as soon as the weather clears. And then this afternoon, I should have the staged reading version of our play, “The Guide to being Fabulous,” ready to send back to Sandra so that she can take it with her to NYC when she starts rehearsals for the new play she is in at Playwrights Horizons, beginning September 3rd (!!!) (Everything is moving so quickly!!)

Other than that, gang, it has gotten to the point now where I am constantly in a state of PTSD. It is almost unbearable but I am somehow hanging in there.

I am still grieving over my dad’s dying In April, trying to process that. Then the tornado hit and destroyed half of our village. Then a homeless black cat who was on death’s door from the tornado, showed up on my porch starving to death and covered in sores and flies, and I have actually nursed him back to complete health (but he made cat #14 at the time). Then the fleas hit and completely took over my home. Then my beloved little cat, Lucy, died from the fleas. Then one of the foster cats almost died and almost lost an eye due to flea meds, but I nursed her back to complete health with colloidal silver and milk thistle and I saved her eye. Then I was being treated so disrespectfully at the train station by that new manager that I finally had no other choice but to quit…even though I was up to my eyeballs with cats and fleas and deadlines for the movie adaptation and the play and wasn’t really in the best frame of mind to look for work.

I am comfortable with the prospects for a new part-time job, though. I will post more about it when I know something concrete.

But other than that, I am stressed to the maximum around here and living in a constant state of mild terror. It has been the worst summer I’ve had in a really, really long time.

But, yesterday, there were these two things that cheered me considerably:
