Closer to home, things are going really great.
I formatted the director’s edits for the play. And now Sandra and I are doing the final line-by-line read-through before rehearsals begin (for her) on September 16th. (Official rehearsals begin on September 18th.)
And I have to say, gang, we are both so excited about this play. We finally have a reasonably “final” draft in front of us — after working on it since 2014. And it is just a great show. It moves at quite a clip, the songs are great, her life story is incredible — and we steer clear of all the intense political indoctrination of the “trans” world that’s currently out there.
It is simply her life story, which took place long before any of this current stuff was an issue.

My dad was so much better than he was two weeks ago. I actually stayed for 3 hours this time, and he was still wide awake & completely coherent when I left.
There was only a fraction of the usual traffic when I drove down to see him, so it seemed like I got there (and back) in record time. And the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.
It’s perfect again, today, although you can feel that Autumn is definitely on its way, even though Summer technically lasts for another 4 weeks… but most of the birds have left, the fireflies are long gone, the sounds of crickets and cicadas fill the air, 24/7. By 8:30PM, it’s already dark out. And the light in the sky just seems different — like Summer is winding down.
It always makes me so sad to see Summer go. I don’t feel that way when the other seasons leave.

This is an eBook of mine that was published by Renaissance eBooks about 12 years ago. And it never comes up in any searches for my books or eBooks. So I did a direct search for it on Amazon, to see if it was still in “print”.
Lo! & behold — it is! And it’s not selling too shabbily for a 12-year-old eBook. It’s holding at #84,672 in BDSM erotica.
However, I also noticed that the publisher re-published it in 2019. (That’s curious, but no big deal). And I also discovered that the publisher has removed the eBooks Hollywood Nights and New Orleans Nights from publication, which is sort of strange, because they were selling even better and they were even older!
I don’t know. Go figure, gang.

2. Who exactly is making all that money on the aborted fetuses?
3. Where exactly will my aborted baby end up — in which fast food product, which vaccine?
4. If I let it go long enough, and my fetus has vital organs when I abort it — who harvests my fetus’ organs? Is my fetus still alive when you harvest those organs? Who kills my fetus afterward? Who is getting those expensive fetal organs and what are they using them for?
5. When I am having a miscarriage and you perform a D&C on me to remove my baby, why are you telling me it’s illegal to return my baby’s remains to me, if I want to give it a proper burial, a funeral? It’s my baby, regardless of how young it is. Don’t tell me you’re actually selling my baby’s tissues & organs to Big Pharma and medical experimentations?

Okay. I posted this video yesterday. Ross K. Nichols’ new series on Isaiah. It’s really good.
I’m posting it again because I realized yesterday, that I am using my mom’s 77-year-old Hebrew Bible for this course. (My adoptive mom, who is dead now, and who disowned me several years before she died.)
But I have the Bible her rabbi gave her in 1946, when she was Confirmed.
The Bible was published in 1946, so it was brand new when my mom received it.
Now it is 77 years old. I find that really interesting. I don’t know that my mom ever touched that Bible after she was Confirmed. I inherited the Bible after her mother (my grandmother) died. The Bible was in a bookshelf upstairs in my grandparent’s house.
But there is still a spiritual connection in it for me.

I’m actually happy that it’s Monday. (And it’s a gorgeous Monday, to boot.)
The train station was insane the whole weekend. The weather was incredible. The local college is getting ready to be back in session and so the town is swarming again. It’s not like Hell on Earth, or anything, because in the town where the train station is, the people are really nice. But physically, at my current lofty age of 63, it gets exhausting. By the time I got home last evening, I could barely walk.
But since I was in town, and already exhausted, I decided to get all the groceries before coming home yesterday, that way I don’t have to go back into town again until Thursday.
Yay.
I’m supposed to get the newest version of the play sometime today, but until then, I can just focus on my own writing, do the laundry, take it easy, enjoy my day, etc.

Not only is tomorrow the big BRICS day, it is also the next livestream for Phil. It starts at 8PM Eastern. And will be in 2 parts — part 1 is open for everyone, and part 2 will be only for his Locals subscribers.
Since it’s taking place the weekend of September 23rd-24th, and since that is when I am going to Cleveland to see Nick Cave, I’ve decided not to sign up for the conference, even though James Tabor is one of the Speakers. And even though you can access the video of the conference eternally so you don’t have to attend while it’s going live, I am so backed up with webinar videos and research and academic papers on the New Testament and all things “Jesus Movement,” I think I’ll just rely on Nick Cave that weekend to get my dose of New Testament insights….

The worst stuff is coming from Real Raw News for the past couple of days.
Yesterday:

United States Marines in Maui have seen firsthand atrocities committed by the Deep State—bloated, bullet-riddled bodies floating facedown in a crimson tide; Hawaii National Guardsmen rummaging through the pockets of dead islanders and tourists; FEMA and the Red Cross forbidding citizens access to nearby food, water, and shelter. […] As reported yesterday, General Eric M. Smith at Camp Pendleton ordered Marines to Maui to investigate claims that the Hawaii National Guard and FEMA were terrorizing disaster victims. Morning #2 of being back to normal around here: Waiting on breakfasts — all 7 cats were in the kitchen once again, and Kon Tiki , out on the porch, returned to her perch of sitting on the top of a porch chair and looking in through the open kitchen window.
And this was the breakfast-listening music for all of us:
Around 3:30AM, I awoke and immediately began missing those two furry little guys who had been sleeping with me every night this whole summer and I could not get back to sleep…
But I know they are happy back at home, and I know for certain that my own cats here are really happy to have their house back. And all 7 of them showed up in the kitchen this morning to get their breakfasts. A thing they haven’t done in 3 months…
Anyway. I couldn’t sleep. I was feeling so sad. And then, as luck would have it — my ex-husband Wayne is in Thailand right now and he began texting me on WhatsApp and sending me photos of what he was up to over there!
So that cheered me up! (And it was nice to have someone else awake at that hour to chat with, but where he was texting from, it was the middle of the afternoon.)
And then, at 5AM, my neighbor texted me as he was leaving for work — saying that he’d be happy to cut my grass while the boy who usually does it recovers from an injury that has left him on crutches…
So now the dilemma of my horribly overgrown front yard has been solved.
So the morning got better, and then I slept from 5AM to 6AM.
I guess life goes on.

It looks like the stuff leaking out about Maui just gets worse and worse, gang. The National Guard, allegedly fully armed, is out in full force in Lahaina. There’s some weird stuff about FEMA, but I’m not sure how much of that is true so I won’t post about it yet.
And from Charlie Ward’s newsletter last night — a financial update on BRICS:
“As the crucial BRICS summit approaches in a week, India has taken a notable step by making its inaugural crude oil payment to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) using the rupee. This shift emerges from a decision between the two countries to transact in their local currencies instead of the US dollar.
According to Reuters, India’s leading refiner has started transacting in the Indian Rupee for its substantial oil acquisitions from the UAE. The report specifically mentions that the payment was made by the Indian Oil Corporation to the Dhabi National Oil Company, as confirmed by the Indian Embassy in the UAE.
The exclusion of the US dollar in oil dealings is significant, especially given the BRICS bloc’s anticipated focus on the oil industry. The trade between India and the UAE has surged, touching $84.5 billion between 2022 and 2023. Additionally, nations such as Saudi Arabia and Venezuela might integrate their oil reserves and related transactions within the BRICS, further diminishing the dependence on the US dollar”
