Andy the Gabby Cabby (UK) – About OUR Money 👀 (4 mins):
*********
After my evening shift is over, this is what I will be watching tonight! On video!! Not even on DVD or streaming.
Wim Wenders’ classic, Wings of Desire, from 1987. Yes (!) it has Nick Cave in it, but it is also just a really great film. (6 minute scene):
***********
And on the home front.
Well, as a very unexpected but incredible way to say hello to the New Year, I am back on the TV pilot project with Peitor Angell and our production company, Abstract Absurdity Productions. (I had stepped down from it back in June because my life had become overwhelming and the TV project is actually quite enormous.)
After a couple of phone conversations with Peitor over in Nice, France, the last couple of days, we came to the decision that I would come back to the project — and we start working on it again on Monday, January 6th, 2025.
So I’m pretty happy about this, gang. I’m in a whole other headspace now than I was back in June.
*********
And that is it for today.
I hope that tonight is filled with all sorts of good omens for you for 2025, wherever you are in the world.
Thanks for visiting.
I love you guys. See ya!

Morning listening music!! This incredible classic, written by Serge Gainsbourg!
I honestly can’t wait to bid this year a fond farewell, gang.
There are some good things that came from it, obviously, but they are seriously overshadowed by the things that really sucked.
This morning, I was lying in bed, my cup of coffee on the bedside table, the sun was coming up, and I thought to myself: I should have transitioned on December 14th, 2001.
I came to this conclusion primarily because that was the beginning of an extremely brief period in my life where I was living cat-free.
Kitty, the furry little love of my life, had been put to sleep the day before. She was almost 19 years old. She had been a gift to me from Valerie. Kitty had followed her home one day when Kitty was just a few months old.
Valerie already had about 5 cats at that point, living in a railroad flat with her and her girlfriend in Long Island City, Queens, so she said to me, “Do you want a kitten?” and I, living with a platonic gay male roommate and no cats in a railroad flat in Alphabet City, in Manhattan, said, “Yes! I do!”
And for nearly 19 years after that moment, I lived a rather simple existence as far as cats went.
Kitty, painted by Valerie, a few months after Kitty died.
Anyway. On December 14th 2001, I was cat-free, plus I had tons of friends and colleagues all over the world, I had a huge family and I was on reasonably good terms with all them — aunts, uncles, cousins, various parents, siblings, step-siblings, half-siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews. My family was huge. And my first book, Neptune & Surf, had come out the year before to great reviews and it was selling great, and had garnered me some awards; my career was definitely on a rocket to the moon. Technically, I was still married but Wayne and I were living separate lives and discussing a possible divorce.
But it would have been the best time to simply cross-over. Life got really complicated and mostly unhappy after that — not to mention that the cat factor in my life has been off-the-charts since then.
My point is that I love them all but they are a lot of responsibility. And if they all live healthy, natural lives, I’ll be well into my 80s before I’ll be cat-free again, plus I’m gonna have to go through all that grief every time another one of them crosses over.
************
Anyway. On that cheery note…
I have today off!! And it is a beautiful day here. Nothing at all like how a December 30th usually is. It’s sunny, clear, and in the 50s Fahrenheit.
Yesterday, however, was a bit of a nightmare, in that I wound up having to work 3 shifts in a row. The upside was that it saved me 60 miles of driving because I went from one client to the next, but I was really tired when I got home last night.
And all of this exhaustion these days, leads to thoughts like the one above — when would have been the perfect time to cross-over????
Another disappointing thing happened — it turns out that not only are Wayne & I not making the road trip to Kentucky to see Dwight Yoakam and the Mavericks, the whole “possibility” was based on a text that had auto-corrected itself to say something entirely different than what it was supposed to say!
So the road trip to Kentucky was never even a possibility and I was so disappointed. I did look into getting myself one ticket to see them at the Beacon Theater in NYC in April, but the price of tickets there are just stupidly sky high. The way-back of the balcony is $88, and the main floor — forget about it!! Jesus, from $580 to $920.
I love them, but, you know… Plus I’d have to plan a trip to NYC around the show, so it gets more expensive by the nanosecond.
Anyway!! I digress!

Phil should be live tonight at 8PM Eastern time. Check here later to confirm.

There was a lot of interesting stuff, “news-wise” yesterday and this morning.
First off, I want to say that I always liked Jimmy Carter even though he was thought to be a lousy President. So it is disheartening to see all the behind-the-scenes stuff coming to light.
I knew that Carter had been mentioned unfavorably in an old Q drop, and Q-followers were saying that “Peanut,” the squirrel that died a few weeks back, was a comm about Carter being dead but that the White Hats hadn’t announced it yet.
So it gets interesting.
So, in the 70s, Jimmy Carter sold the Panama Canal back to Panama for $1.00. And, curiously, Trump has been talking lately about getting that canal back.
Guardian angels activated in the New York City subways!”

Interesting. Hopefully you can read this:

From Charlie Ward’s newsletter:
“…global temperatures are now plummeting, and oceans are cooling at an astonishing rate. In the U.K., 2024 is set to mark the second consecutive year of declining temperatures since the so-called “record” year of 2022.
The BBC, among others, recently pushed alarmist claims of record-breaking ocean temperatures, supposedly driven by climate change. Yet, just months later, global sea temperatures have dropped dramatically—down 0.5°C, back to 2015 levels. This rapid cooling, particularly in the Pacific, signals the likely return of a natural La Niña cooling phase, further debunking the endless scaremongering by climate activists.
Meanwhile, land temperatures are also showing signs of decline, as satellite records reveal notable monthly drops. Yet, the usual suspects continue to dismiss natural variations, preferring to pin every weather fluctuation on human activity. Conveniently ignored are explanations like El Niño, reduced cloud cover, and solar activity, all natural factors influencing the recent warming spike….”
Deep State Judge Juan Merchan has become the latest cabalist executed at Guantanamo Bay without first having had a military tribunal. On December 23, Merchan was taken from his cell and brought before a cadre of military brass that had gathered at the gallows to bid him farewell.
As reported previously, US Navy JAG investigators apprehended Merchan at his home in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, New York, informing him that he was being held to account for a bevy of high crimes, including treason, seditious conspiracy, and defrauding the United States. {…}’
High School history fables taught us that the Spanish-American War of 1898 was a meaningless war instigated by the Yellow Journalist William Randolph Hearst. {…}
[…]The Globo-Zionist crime gang was not nearly as entrenched among the American elite as it is today, but the pernicious influence of the New World Order was indeed growing fast. Money Masters such as Jacob Schiff, John D Rockefeller, Rothschild front-man JP Morgan and others were already on board with the Globalist movement; as were media moguls like Adolph Ochs (NY Times), and the aforementioned Hearst and Pulitzer. America’s potential as a global ‘hit-man’ for the N.W.O. was not lost upon these One Worlders, particularly in regard to establishing a menacing naval presence from which the emerging U.S. bully could influence the affairs of Asia. Thus was born the idea for the first “Asian pivot” – the theft of the Spanish colonies of Guam and the Philippines. […]
And that is it! I’m planning to have a really peaceful day here today. I do believe 2025 is going to be a great year.
Meanwhile…
Have a great December 30th wherever you are in the world!!
Thanks for visiting.
I love you guys. See ya!

I leave you with this!
I was looking for a CD to play in the kitchen this morning, and I re-discovered a CD compilation that Peitor Angell had made for me about 14 years ago(!!). He had titled it “Marilyn’s Medicine” and I recalled that he had recorded it to lift my spirits.
I thought to myself; I wonder if this is still my medicine? So I put it in the CD player and immediately my heart just soared, gang. It’s all songs by female French singers from the 1960s.
Here is the first song on the CD. I just love this song and I had forgotten about it. ‘La petite maison bleue” by Dalida. (“The little blue house”). Gorgeous. Give it a listen and see if it lifts your spirits, too, gang! Okay. Enjoy.
From the recent opening of Nick Cave’s art exhibit at the Voorlinden Museum in the Netherlands. (1hr 12 mins):
************ And there’s THIS!!
Apparently, it is open to the public, gang. TONIGHT from 6-10pm, MST, so if you live in Aspen, scurry on over!!!

And there is THIS!!
Wayne and I might be taking a little road trip together in late April to Pikeville, Kentucky, to see Dwight Yoakam and the Mavericks!!
Pikeville is only about 4 hours from here, and it’s not only the birthplace of Dwight Yoakam, but also the town where a huge portion of my paternal ancestors lived. (The May family.)
Also, while we’re in Pikeville, we might head over to Robinson Creek and take a look around. My great-great-great grandfather founded the town of Robinson Creek, and way back then he lived on the banks of the actual creek.

And that’s it for now! I gotta scoot. I might not be posting tomorrow, because I have a double shift that starts early.
Enjoy your Saturday, wherever you are in the world!!
Well, the “news” is still really quiet out there . So I don’t have anything to post regarding that.
Although I want to wish a belated happy birthday to Lt. General Mike Flynn (Dec. 24th).

The holidays are essentially over for me. At least that “holiday mindset” is over. I’m just focused on work now, and on getting back to “normal”…
This morning, I had my first phone chat with Sandra since November. We are now officially back to work on “The Guide to Being Fabulous”!! So I feel really hopeful that this will pull me past the slump of missing my dad so much during Christmas. And get me back on track with the rest of my life.
I hope everyone out there has had a great time celebrating, or meeting up with family and friends — however you spend the days surrounding Christmas. I know that for many people, it was just a really weird Christmas this year. I know that I’m already looking forward to next Christmas being a whole lot better.
Meanwhile….
I don’t have to go to my shift until this evening, so I’m getting stuff done around the house today.
Even though I am still really tired, I am bowled over by the beauty of my clients this season.
I was not expecting any gifts or even any cards, but my clients are kind of blowing me away with their kindness. Yesterday, one of my clients gave me a gift and a Christmas card that sort of took my breath away — and when I thanked her for it, the beautiful things she said to me about the job I do for her and her husband brought tears to my eyes.
It’s a difficult mix between knowing I will be alone this Christmas because my dad is gone now and I basically have no family left who are still speaking to me, and my friends are far away, spending Christmas with their families.
So the fact that I will actually be spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with clients who genuinely care about me — it is hard to process that mix of gratitude, love, loss.
I have to say, though, I am really looking forward to spending Christmas Day with my 94-year-old Japanese client that I adore so much!!
We have such an incredible time when we are together. He and I have so many unlikely things in common that I could do a whole blog post about it.
When I saw him on Wednesday, in the course of our conversations, he said, “I only have a couple more minutes to live.”
And I said, “Do you think you could hold out for another week, because I’ll be coming here on Christmas and I’d hate to be here all by myself.”
He laughed. and he said, “Okay. I’ll hold on another week…”
I’m expecting Christmas Day with him to be just beautiful.
************
Anyway. I digress!
There is NO NEWS, gang!! It’s getting insane! The amount of stuff that they are pretending is happening that is not really happening….
I’ve been to Telegram, YouTube, Truth Social, Rumble, X….. and it is all the same.
This is not “news” but it’s interesting, if not sickening. You should probably read it.
“…Most Americans over the age of 45, and certainly all readers of The Anti-New York Times, should already know that Fidel Castro was a Communist dictator who ruined Cuba — driving its mostly White upper and middle classes to flee to Florida while the communist state and its rabble hordes dispossessed productive Cubans who stayed. There was celebration in the Cuban enclaves of Union City, NJ and Miami, FL when the unrepentant old bastard finally died in 2016..
Of more interest to our eager students of real history is the long-since forgotten story of the mighty media organization that dusted off the badly defeated rebel, put him back on his feet, and helped to install him as dictator. That’s right, boys and girls. Without the maneuvering of Sulzberger’s Slimes (aka “the paper of record”) — specifically the pro-communist correspondent Herbert Matthews(cough cough) — and the Evil Eisenhower-Dulles State Department, Castro’s revolution of 1959 would never have succeeded..[…]”
Nick Cave sent out the best Red Hand File yesterday!! It’s all about how he is going to be spending Christmas — with his family, and going to church.
I have to tell you, gang, just knowing that he is going to have such a perfect Christmas is going to make my own Christmas that much happier. It really is. I’m going to get a lot of joy out of just thinking about it.
He said, in part:
“…And somewhere, amid the feasting and joyful human messiness – this beautiful, this happy, this sorrowful estate – I will acknowledge how extraordinarily fortunate my family and I are to have this good Christmas Day. I will remember, too, amongst all the making and the doing, the energising principle around which this day revolves that speaks so eloquently of rebirth and renewal, and the end to waiting – that of a mother bearing a child in a stable, revitalising the world for all eternity.”
Our random selection comes from Chapter Five: Daily Affirmations. And the topic is — CHILDREN (!!).
Keith says:
“They give you that little bit — that important bit of living when you absolutely don’t know shit about nothing.”
Who could say it better ???

And that is actually it for today. I essentially have the “whole day off”, but then, tonight, I will be with that sweet 99-year-old blind lady, who lives out in the middle of deep, dark, snowy nowhere with 3 huge happy dogs and two big rascally black cats.
It’s a full house and it’s full of love, gang.
Okay.
Enjoy your Friday, wherever you are in the world.
Thanks for visiting.
I love you guys. See ya!

I leave you with this.
The 94-year-old Japanese man had the great good fortune of seeing “South Pacific” on Broadway (in 1950), back when it was brand new and the legendary Mary Martin was starring in it.
What a fantastic show it is– the music, alone, is incredible. Imagine anyone being able to experience that show, live, on stage, when it was brand new. Let alone, being a young Japanese-American, who spent his childhood in Japan, during WWII, then returning to NYC at age 17, and then seeing a show like “South Pacific”.
He and I discuss that show all the time, actually. It’s a show I just love. And I adored Mary Martin when I was a little girl.
Last night, by candlelight, I lay in my bed, listening to a few of the songs from “South Pacific”, but once I landed on the song below, I couldn’t stop playing it!!! “This Nearly Was Mine”. I just kept thinking about the miracle that I have even met this amazing man so late in his life. It is such a blessing to me, to be able to hear about the stories of his life — they are extraordinary. Okay. Enjoy, gang!!
“This Nearly Was Mine”
One dream in my heart One love to be livin’ for One love to be livin’ for This nearly was mine
One girl for my dream One partner in paradise This promise of paradise This nearly was mine
Close to my heart she came Only to fly away Only to fly as day flies from moonlight Now, now I’m alone Still dreamin’ of paradise Still sayin’ that paradise Once nearly was mine
I’ll keep rememberin’ kisses From lips I’ve never owned And all the lovely adventures That we have never known
One dream in my heart One love to be livin’ for One love to be livin’ for This nearly was mine
Nothing but optics and psyops, for as far as the eye can see, across all the lands, hither and yon.
Phil posted that he had HUGE news and will try to do a livestream soon. Of course, the stock markets are also tanking, so his huge news might have something to do with buying gold and silver. I guess we’ll see.
Meanwhile — here is an example of the endless stuff I see constantly right now. Anytime you see or hear the number 17 these days, it’s a sure sign that it’s a Q-related psyop. [Q being the 17th letter of the alphabet.]
The formerly holy and exalted post-World War II institution of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) coming up short on its spending targets, in spite of a “war” going in the Ukraine, — coupled with Commander Trump‘s mounting threats to pull out of the already defanged organization — are just further indicators that the New World Order is dead. All that remains now is the play-acted closing drama to start in 2025. […]
Among the religious devotees and dupes of NWO Globalism, NATO ranks right up there with the UN, the WHO, the EU, the World Bank and the IMF as an “indispensable” institution of “global stability.” The truth is, that from its inception to the present day, NATO — a wholly-owned subsidiary of the CIA which itself was founded just two years before NATO — has always been a enforcement racket in service to the Globalists.
The origin of NATO traces back to the Treaty of Brussels of 1948 among Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the UK — four European states which had conspired to start World War II in the first place […]”
If you scroll down to the bottom of the article, you find the passage about Solomon dealing with the Queen of Sheba’s hairy legs. It is actually pretty interesting.
However, if you read the whole article, you’ll see how, depending on which religious texts you are studying, the stories of Biblical characters can often change greatly. (Which is why, long, long ago, among myriad other things, some people were taught that Jesus never married, while others were taught that he was married to Mary Magdalene, and so they worshipped her as much as they worshipped Jesus.)
Actually, yesterday, I was with my 94-year-old Japanese client. He was a ministerial student while also attending NYU — back in the 1950s. So we talk about God and Christianity a lot.
And yesterday, in the course of our conversations, I mentioned something about Christmas not really being Jesus’s birthday and he had never heard that before.
However, Pope Julius I, in the 4th Century AD, declared December 25th to be Jesus’ birthday. This was allegedly to help Pagans be more comfortable just celebrating Christ right along with the Winter Solstice.
And even though Orthodox and Ethiopian churches consider Christmas to be in January, even longer ago than that, Jesus’ birthday was celebrated on (what we would call) April 17th, around 6 BC.
So it all depends on what you’re studying.
But me and the Japanese man concluded that it doesn’t make Christmas any less joyful.
*************
I apparently digress!
Oh, however, I should probably tell you now, in case I forget– I saw my schedule for January, gang, and it looks like the agency has finally settled on a truly manageable schedule for me! Only 3 double shifts in the whole month, plus I’ve got plenty of room to finally set up a writing schedule for myself again.
So I might actually start being a sane person sometime soon. We can only hope. I know that I’m getting pretty tired of constantly feeling like I’m out of my fucking mind…

I leave you with this morning’s Christmas breakfast-listening-music!!
We’ve moved on to the fantastic Andy Williams Christmas album. (Yes, in fact it IS occurring to me that I am getting really old. Thank you very much!) Anyway.
“Do You Hear What I Hear?” Andy Williams. From 1965. (But it’s STILL a great fucking Christmas album!!!!) Okay. Enjoy, gang!
Yesterday was a great day! Not only was the weather gorgeous, but also, Kara and I had such a nice time celebrating her birthday at our favorite Mexican restaurant. No, not the one we go to when we drive a million miles to see a movie, but this one, which is much, much closer:
Yes, Tequilaville!
And even though it looks like some sort of drab warehouse from the outside, it is incredibly festive inside right now — Christmas lights and ornaments strung everywhere. Plus, the food is just really good.
However, my Q-following friend — the one I’m having a pre-Christmas lunch with on Saturday afternoon, after my morning shift — well, she texted me in the middle of the night and said she’d rather go to Tequilaville for lunch on Saturday instead of the Peony Bistro (directly across the street from there — Chinese & Japanese food), like we were planning. Not wanting to hurt her feelings and say that I’d just eaten at Tequilaville 5 minutes ago, I texted back: “Okay!”
So now I have to drum up some other friend and go to the Peony Bistro some other day, because I was really kind of looking forward to having Chinese food for a change.
************
All right.
There’s a lot of interesting stuff going on out there right now, gang, but it’s still just a ton of optics.
If you follow Q, then you know that this is a really exciting time because the Q comms & deltas are just piling up all over the place. But other than that, you can get the “news” all over the place.
Instead!!
We will dedicate this post to not only wishing Keith Richards a happy 81st birthday, but also wishing Keith & Patti a happy anniversary!! (And, btw, that beautiful family has grown since that photo was taken!!)
***************
And in keeping with our Keith theme– here’s our Daily Feature!
What Would Keith Richards Do?
And as luck would have it, we landed back in the chapter A Chronology of Trouble. Yay! This is another weird one — it concerns the seemingly endless feud between Keith and Mick in the 1980s:
“The Brenda Years and WWIII: Keith comes across a book by an author named Brenda Jagger at a Paris bookstore near the very same apartment he couldn’t find a few years earlier. He now refers to Mick as “Brenda”. Tensions between Keith and newly named “Brenda” get worse. Keith claims he’s gearing up to replace Brenda with Roger Daltrey.”
No comment, I guess.
*************
Meanwhile, have a great Wednesday, wherever you are in the world! I will attempt to brighten my mood here before I have to leave for my shift, even though the rain is kind of getting me down…
Thanks for visiting, though.
I love you guys. See ya!
*************
I leave you with a nice blend of Keith and Christmas!
Keith Richards and the X-pensive Winos do their version of Chuck Berry’s “Run, Run Rudolph”. From 1992. Enjoy!!
Wow, did I have some great dreams last night, gang. And I woke up just feeling really happy today.
And today is Kara’s birthday, so I’m really looking forward to taking her out to lunch before my afternoon shift. I haven’t seen her since we saw the incredible Andrea Bocelli film.
And I have to say that yesterday’s visit with the insurance guy was actually quite fantastic. Not just because he’s making the whole Medicare Plan B thing a breeze for me, but, most importantly, we focused more on getting me truly affordable Long Term Care/ Assisted Living insurance.
This means that if something happens to me (like I fall and break something), I can now afford to have someone much like myself come in and take care of me every day!!!
Honestly, gang, when I am with my clients it is always in the back of my mind — what am I going to do if I ever need a home health aide? I can’t afford it!! And I know firsthand, what a difference it makes in someone’s life. Being able to stay at home and not have to go into one of those awful places where the poor elderly have to go to either recuperate or die.
My long term coverage starts February 1st (!!). And of course my Medicare starts July 1st. So on we go into the glorious sunset of old age… Actually, it really is a relief to me.
************
Okay. Honestly, gang. NO NEWS. Assuming of course that you ignore the false flags, the false-false flags, the psyops…
Naturally, il donaldo trumpo posted this AGAIN last night. I’m guessing it applies to just about everything going on out there right now–

A new interview with Colin Greenwood from yesterday.
Design Matters Media 16 December 2024 • 55 mins
“Since 2003, Radiohead’s bassist, Colin Greenwood, has taken his camera to the studio and on stage to document the rise of one of the world’s most cherished bands. He joins to discuss his legendary musical career and his beautiful new book,How to Disappear, capturing intimate photographs of his bandmates at work.”
And, yes, some very friendly suit & tie guy is coming over this afternoon to discuss my MEDICARE PLAN B options (!!!) because I will be 65 in a mere 8 months and he didn’t want me to go for another moment without focusing on THAT.
Unbelievable.
But I have to say that I was okay about making the appointment because he actually showed up at my house, in person. He was actually out by my kitchen porch when I drove home from work last Wednesday.
And he drives the very same car that I do. A brand new 2025 Honda Civic sedan — same exact color, too. It was so weird. I was driving down the street toward my house — and then imagine my surprise when I saw that somehow my car was already parked in front of my house and that I was already home! WTF???
When I got out of my car and went over to him (he was young, attractive, very well dressed), he said, “Marilyn?”
He knew my first name, so that immediately set off alarms in my brain. Does he work for the IRS? (To whom I owe money). Does he work for Social Security? (To whom I owe money). Is he here from the County, wanting to ask me something about my new roof? (Thankfully, I owe them no money at all…)
Anyway. Refer to the part above that explains why he actually came, and even though I am morally opposed to all types of insurance…. I figured I’d find out what he has to say about Medicare Plan B because he was really nice and he knew my name…

This will make you absolutely sick. But it’s still worth reading.
[…] In a November 2008 report titled: Global Trends 2025: A Transformed World, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) — the agency which oversees all intelligence agencies — and the National Intelligence Council didn’t just telegraph Stupid-19, but also “guessed” the time-window and foretold how many people were to have been genocided in America and worldwide.
Just to add a bit of critical context, the multi-topic report about a “transformed world” was published right about the time that Obongo was elected, marking the start of the Bildberger-certified “16-year plan” to finish off America once and for all with 8 years of Bath House Barry followed by 8 years of Killary Clinton. The math: 2009 + 16 = 2025. […]”
I’m going to try to get some writing done around here today. Wish me luck!!
And tomorrow, before my afternoon shift, I’m taking my dear friend Kara out to lunch for her birthday!! Yay!!! Something to do besides work…
And on Saturday, after my morning shift, my Q-following friend and I are meeting for a Christmas-celebratory lunch!! Something else to do besides work…

Not much to report — if you missed Phil’s livestream about the Christmas cash giveaway, he did briefly mention that on his next live he’ll explain the drones that are all over the place in the US. Check here to stay updated.
But I’m guessing the whole thing is a White Hat psyop to get the sleepers worked up over the fake Biden Administration not giving a hoot about Americans…
And I’m also guessing it’s nothing to worry about, when Trump, himself, posts this:

From Chapter Five: Daily Affirmations. The topic today is BEING ALIVE. Keith tells us:
“To me, life is a wild animal. You hope to deal with it when it leaps at you.”
I have to say that I heartily concur!!

And that is it for today.
I have one shift later today — a married couple that I adore and they are only a 15-minute drive from here!! Yay. When I get back home, the night is still reasonably young…
But for now, I am going right back to bed. I’m effing exhausted, gang. It’s not that my caregiving job is physically difficult; it is emotionally overwhelming, but in a positive way.
For instance — when I was with the sweet 99-year-old blind lady on Friday night, as I was leaving her bedroom to go home, she called out — “I love you!”
Wow, gang. That stopped me in my tracks. I said, “I love you, too.”
I was raised in a family that NEVER said “I love you.” Never. The only people in my family who have ever said they loved me was my grandma in Cleveland and one of my uncles. My grandma has been gone for 35 years. My uncle, thankfully, is still alive (92) and still tells me he loves me every time we talk on the phone. But even my dad, who recently died and took all the joy right out of my life along with him — he never told me he loved me. Although I know that he did.
Anyway. I don’t want to a sound as if I will take it anywhere I can get it. However, if someone takes the time to tell me, “I love you,” it means the world to me.
And then multiply that moment times every shift I’ve worked since Friday night, and it leaves me exhausted. In a very good, if somewhat confounding, way.

Okay. Enjoy your Sunday, wherever you are in the world!
