Sorry, gang. I have not had time yet to go over any of the morning’s news.
As you may or may not know, we’re now having an intense heat wave. I am grateful that I have electricity because many parts of Ohio are still without power because of Monday night’s storm, and so they can’t even turn on a fan, let alone air conditioning.
However, I have no air conditioning in the house and I prefer it that way, but the intense heat and humidity and BRIGHT SHINY SUNSHINE!! make it a little hard to think.
Plus, last evening, my neighbr began freaking out a little because no insurance adjusters have been out to his house yet to look at all the damage done by a huge section of my tree crashing into it.
I am of course sensitive to how he is feeling about this but not only is there nothing I can do to speed up the insurance guys (I’m guessing they got a ton of calls about damage done by the storm), but it is also really hard for me to have to see my poor tree still smashed into his house whenever I look out my window. So I’d like things to happen, too.
Still, all his texting put a bit of a damper on my peacefull evening last night, on top of all that heat & humidity.
So it is stressful here but I am trying to be supportive of his intensity while just moving forward the best way I can.
Anyway, the one good thing I can say is that Phil’s livestream last night was great. In a nutshell:

Here, things are better than the Hell that was yesterday, but my poor tree is still lodged firmly in the front half of my neighbor’s house.
The insurance companies around here are so overloaded with emergency calls from that storm, that the claims adjuster won’t be able to come out until today.
Basically, I try not to look out my bedroom window. Every time I see what has become of my tree, my heart breaks all over again.
Yesterday, a co-worker brought her phone over to me and said, “Is this your nieghbor’s house???” And, yes, indeed, it was my neighbor’s house, with my enormous tree on top of it. Some passerby had taken a photo of it and it was going viral on a local FB group. It made me feel so sad to see that. Just heartbreaking.
Anyway. Here we are, today. Still alive. For what it’s worth.

And in a round about way, that reminds me of the current Mick Jagger situation. I have no clue what’s really going on there, except that, right before the Amsterdam concert. he “tested postive for COVID” — which, as we know doesn’t really exist. It’s a coronavirus. A cold or flu. And if it goes beyond a cold or flu, you were likely vaccinated against “COVID” and are going to get really sick. And probably die, or spend the rest of your life wishing you were dead.
Usually, though, “testing positive” for public personalities means they’ve been arrested. But I can’t really figure out what’s going on with Mick Jagger. That’s someone they would have arrested a long time ago, if they were going to arrest him — his connections to royal families, his well known fondness for very young women (including MacKenzie Phillips, who included it in her memoir and Mick Jagger approved it being published — that they had sex upstairs in her bedroom, with her dad’s blessings, when she was underage. However, it was almost 7000% overshadowed by the fact that she had tons of sex with her dad….)
Anyway. It doesn’t make sense that he would suddenly be arrested. However, he could have been vaxxed and is now actually sick and that would really, really suck, gang.

My listening music from last night, while waiting for Phil! Zager & Evans’ huge hit from 1969, “In the Year 2525”. Yesterday evening, I had a great phone chat with Val in Brooklyn and the result of it was suddenly remembering this song from out of nowhere, along with Roundup Lake campgrounds (!!), not far from Cleveland, Ohio. (I have to say, gang, it was so fucking great to be alive in the 1960s, and it’s doubly great to have friends who are still managing to stay alive, too, and who remember those incredible days.) Okay. It is yet another splendid day here in Crazeysburg, plus it’s that annual weekend in June, where the street in front of our “city hall” (which is actually the smallest building you can possibly imagine). Anyway, there is a “homecoming” event and they set up rides for the kids and live music, etc, in front of city hall and they block off the street.
It is not a school-sports-related “homecoming”, but a town homecoming, where people who are connected to Crazeysburg in some way, return and do whatever.
It is the perfect weather for this event and the energy in the air in the evening is just great. Everyone’s happy. And the young people– you know, they are just doing that thing young people have always done in June, which I just love.
Last evening, I was sitting on my kitchen porch, playing with a cat who had come to visit me — a really lovely Maine Coon calico with big white feet(!!)– and I saw a young girl across the road, all by herself, on her way to the festivities. She couldn’t have been more than 15. She had long brown hair, she was slender, and was wearing a simple sundress and a pair of sandals. Just the prettiest thing. So quiet and all alone. On her way to break some hearts and she likely had no real clue.
We actually have a lot of young people, and small children, here in Crazeysburg. Which I think is really cool, since it is such a small village (1300 people in the actual village, but this does not count all the surrounding farms, which cover many, many, many acres, extending way up into the hills). It just shows that, more frequently now, people don’t move away. They stay and raise their chiuldren here.

My meeting with Kevin went incredibly well. Just very, very good — regarding the play and an initial sort of “plan” to move forward.
But, wow. He is still fresh from NYC. He is still shell-shocked from it. And it is still really bad there. Especially in the theaters. Still wearing masks. People still thinking COVID actually exists, not having a clue that it’s just a coronavirus– it’s a cold, maybe even a bad cold, or it’s the flu. Period. And that the masks are worse for you than any alleged virus is.
So there is still not just that to overcome, but in terms of the overall “theater”, there is still the racism issue there. The fake, contrived, phony “racism” issue, about how white people can’t direct or write plays about non-whites. (Which, of course, would also mean that non-whites can’t direct or write plays about whites. That’s where you see the deep and dangerous psychological ghetto-ized hole that elites of the world have dug for any people of color who buy into this garbage.)
Anyway. Boots to the ground and put on the full armor of God once again. I’m not happy about it but I’m not going to back down. (And I look a lot prettier when I don’t have to be in “junkyard dog-mode”, but whatever will be, will be.)
So far, throughout my career, I’ve been blessed to work with so many people of every color imaginable who didn’t buy into that dangerous way of reverse-racist thinking, and I intend to continue to find people like that to work with, because this play — Tell My Bones, about the life of Helen LaFrance, an incredibly gifted black painter from Kentucky, who spoke with me, a white woman, in person and gave me the rights to write about her life — is going to get off the ground, one of these days.

But still, the meeting was great and we’re going to move forward.

The man who directed the staged reading of my play Tell My Bones — way back in November of 2020. He is now here in his (absolutely beautiful) summer home, gettng a break from NYC.
Because of the much-talked-about plan-demic, this will be our first in-person meeting to discuss how that reading went and what the plans for the future should be regarding the play.
Can you imagine, waiting 19 months before you can discuss the feedback on a staged reading of a play???
Anyway. On we go, right? I am so effing tired of that plan-demic and all things associated with it. I’m just trying to move forward now in whatever ways possible. And we are having lunch in Granville– our old stomping grounds from days of yore!!
And I will even be wearing eye makeup today!! (Assuming I remember how to do that. Since November 2020 up until recently, I spent 8 hours a day, 6 days a week, trying to help customers and their extended families survive the fake vaccines — a lot of the time, failing at that; so many of our customers and/or their family members died from those effing bioweapons vaccines — it wasn’t the time to be thinking about eye makeup, right?) (Plus, I spent every other waking hour, trying to stay on top of all Q-related news, that I wouldn’t have even had time to take the eye makeup off at night!)

And yet again, I discover, by way of an online obituary, that another one of my friends is dead. This is the 4th time this has happened to me in the past 2 months.
Heavy sigh.
This was someone I used to run around with back in my folksinging days in NYC. We were a very frisky duo — but not “onstage” and that was not common knowledge!! It was always completely off-the-record whenever we got together.
Anyway, we were like two peas in a pod, we really were. He was 15 years older than me. He was born & raised in Malawi, in Africa, and I of course, was from Ohio, yet our temperaments were the same. Our minds seemed to work the same way, etc. He was on the road constantly back then, but I really loved hanging out with him whenever he was back in the city.
