I know — I look a lot younger when I’m soaking wet…
Okay. So, today is supposed to be the final day of the heatwave.
In case you don’t know, or you’ve forgotten, I don’t have AC in my 123-year-old house. But I do have 21 enormous windows and 2 brand new ceiling fans!! But it’s still unbelievably hot. And sunny!
Mostly, the intense heat just makes it really hard for me to think straight, so I haven’t gotten much writing done the past few days. So I’m looking forward to tomorrow and getting my brain back, even though it’s going to rain.

Okay.

Another great one from the 80s!! I loved this song so much when it first came out. I played it non-stop. Dire Straits’ “Walk of Life”. Perfect bounce for a sunny day. Enjoy, gang!
Yes, it’s very, very hot around here and it’s not at all conducive to thinking in any way whatsoever. But at least it is yet again a really pretty day!
Regarding the “news” — it does seem to be ratcheting up all over the place, doesn’t it?
If you listened to that news roundup that I posted last night, the 2 items I liked the most were about Trump being recognized as the US President by foreign countries now that the Supreme Court is (allegedly) FINALLY going to announce that they heard the Brunson case, which overturns the 2020 election. (I believe they heard the case a long time ago, they just haven’t gone public with their ruling yet).
There was also a quick mention of JFK Jr. appearing at a 4th of July celebration?? That went by so fast (plus I was driving when I was listening to it), that I almost missed that item. But that would be a huge BOOM, wouldn’t it??
We shall see how it all goes, gang. But it does seem that ever since Phil’s “Boom” livestream on Tuesday, the news coming from everywhere is just getting so intense (and very promising).
Charlie is in transit, so he wasn’t able to do his news update today, but here are Drew and Paul.

Okay. I think that’s it, gang. And please, just to be safe — keep cash at home (preferably in small bills), full tank of gas in the car, extra food on hand for you & your pets! July is likely to be VERY interesting.
Enjoy your Friday, wherever you are in the world.
Thanks for visiting.
I love you guys. See ya!

Yes, one of the best songs ever!! I’ve posted it here before, but here it is again, to get your Friday kicked into a happy gear. Enjoy, gang!!
However, I did get my new ceiling fan installed in the family room yesterday, and it works great!! In fact, it almost works too good — it whirs around at such a phenomenal speed, that it looks like, at any moment now, we’re going to hear “lift off!”
Okay.
The guy who is installing my new front door should be arriving at any moment. They already dropped off the new door last night… It is just an ordinary door. It looks just like my kitchen door and my back door, so at least there will be uniformity — not something I really care about, but it’s something. Plus is has a big window, which I was hoping for.
************
Phil’s live last night was a little strange. Of course, I don’t necessarily believe him when he said the only intel he got was the word “Boom” with no explanation.
It makes me wonder why the splash page for his live was in Chinese… hmmm. And a photo of the Capitol building at night, with the word “Boom” over it…..The Chinese invented fireworks. Perhaps “this”Boom” has something to do with the 4th of July in DC?
He also brought up SCOTUS at the same time — will the Supreme Court have a big announcement around the 4th of July? Will Trump’s PEAD be involved?
Obviously, I don’t know. But I just didn’t get the feeling that what he told us last night was all that he knew.
“I do not like to do this, but I really dont care for someone not only calling my live video yesterday fake news but I seriously don’t appreciate the devil’s minions part. The dayum video was done LIVE yesterday on FB with many people watching as I walked. That is EXACTLY why ALL of my videos are done live on FB because no one can say theyve been edited in any way. Live videos do not lie. We all know that fences can be taken down there quickly overnight (as they have many times) and if these pics were taken today then that’s exactly what happened. With me getting procedures today I could not go to check on things. Whoever this guy is he should slow his roll down. I have spent almost 4yrs in that city videoing and do NOT appreciate this whatsoever. My live videos do not lie.”

And just for the heck of it! here’s this today!! Enjoy.
Yes, I’m heading to town here soon to get all the MANY groceries — which, of course includes food for my many frisky cats.
Yes, it’s kind of unreal how much food very young cats eat compared to what my own cats eat, now that they’re 12 years old…
However, 2 of my co-workers at the train station are pitching in to help keep these FIVE young cats fed. (I am fostering them, indefinitely, and maybe even forever. We’ll see.)
So. Yesterday.
I didn’t get my new front door yet, because all those many guys came back to finish the gutters and soffits on my new roof! I had no idea this hadn’t been done already. They were here for 8 incredibly noisy hours yesterday and were not able to install the new door yet. So they’re coming back one day this week to take care of the door.
Want to hear a story that brought tears to my eyes? I’ve posted here before about how, in this little village I live in, during the summer months when school is out, an old-fashioned “ice cream truck” goes around the village giving free hot lunches to kids in need. A local family owns the truck and does this all by themselves.
The truck was out and about yesterday. It stopped in front of my house to give 3 young girls hot lunches to take home. And then, if that wasn’t cool enough — the man got out and gave hot lunches to all the Mexican guys who were here working on my roof!! The workmen, most of whom didn’t speak English, were stunned when the man wouldn’t take any money for it. “No — it’s free!” So all the workmen got an unexpected free lunch.
I happened to be looking out my upstairs window when it all happened and it just broke my heart in the best way.
The hot lunch “ice cream truck” in Frazeysburg and the family that runs it.
Meanwhile, today I am getting a new ceiling fan installed in my family room! Right at dinner time, so that should be fun.
For posterity, I took photos of my old door before it gets replaced. I love this old door, gang. The iron work on it is so cool. And the history of it fascinates me: who went in & out of this door, and looked through its window, during the last 123 years? You can’t really see the iron work in the photos, nevertheless —

In other news–
The lovely French actress Anouk Aimee has died. She was 92 (!!). I really loved her.
*************
For some reason, this next post has a lot of people arguing that the “fence” around the Supreme Court is normal, and also, outdated photos of the really tall older fence are circulating, causing the disputes.
“Waist high fencing has been installed all the way around the SC building. I was told it was for some decisions that are about to come down.”
She has her usual video footage to support it.

Phil did not do his live last night, but hopes to do it tonight, instead, at 8PM Eastern time. He is planning a second one for tomorrow night, as well. Check here later to confirm.

Listening-music from breakfast today! “American Girl” live! (The video below is not the version I was listening to, but I like the video because it is so Tom Petty in 1978…)
“American Girl” was the first single from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers first album (1976). It did not chart here in the US, but did chart in the UK. However, it still became a classic Tom Petty song. And oddly enough, it was the last song Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers played together live (in LA), before he died a week later (2017).
I could do an entire post about why I love this song and what it has meant to me, but for now, I’ll just post the video. Enjoy, gang!!
“American Girl”
Well, she was an American girl Raised on promises She couldn’t help thinkin’ that there Was a little more to life somewhere else After all, it was a great big world With lots of places to run to And if she had to die tryin’ She had one little promise she was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right Take it easy, baby Make it last all night (Make it last all night) She was an American girl
Well, it was kind of cold that night She stood alone on her balcony (Ooh) Yeah, she could hear the cars roll by Out on 441 like waves crashin’ on the beach And for one desperate moment there He crept back in her memory God, it’s so painful when something that is so close Is still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right Take it easy, baby Make it last all night (Make it last all night) She was an American girl (Ooh)
More beautiful weather here, gang, although the heat wave has also begun. However, I have plenty of fans — including that great new ceiling fan in my kitchen.
AND — tomorrow, a handy man is coming to replace the ceiling fan in my family room.
AND– well, this has nothing to do with the heatwave, but those guys from the County are installing my new front door today! I’ll be sad to see the old one go, because it is 123 years old and I love the history of it. But, to be honest, it doesn’t open and hasn’t opened for decades and there are not even any keys that fit the extremely old iron lock. So it will be nice to be able to walk in and out of my front door if I so choose!!
***********
Okay. This was posted on Tom Petty’s Instagram page yesterday for Father’s Day and I just loved it — it’s such a candid shot of Tom and his granddaughter, and I love the fact that his guitar is on the bed, along with the TV remote.

In other news!!
Nick Cave’s Solo Tour 2024 continues in Serbia tomorrow, and then, the following week, he has several dates in Finland and then Iceland but alas!!! ALL shows are sold out.
And he also sent out another Red Hand File yesterday, wherein he explained what his new song, “Frogs,” is all about!
Oddly, it turns out that it’s yet another love song for his wife, but this time it’s biblical!!
“In Frogs, a couple (most likely my wife and me) walk through the rain on a Sunday morning. An alert listener will deduce that they are walking home from church because bells are ringing, and a reading from the Bible, the story of Cain and Abel, is still rolling around in their heads.
And I think that is it for now. I gotta get things ready for the workmen to arrive. After that, got a ton of stuff to work on with Sandra today.
Enjoy your Monday, wherever you are in the world!
Thanks for visiting.

I leave you with this!! Another oldie — but this one, I had actually forgotten about, until it popped up on my playlist! “Elenore” by The Turtles, 1968! Enjoy, gang.
And if you’re not a father, then happy Sunday, wherever you are in the world.
I have no “news” today. Instead, I just wanted to share a quick post for Father’s Day.
I’m not going to be able to get down to see my dad’s grave today. But I’m planning to just enjoy the day, regardless. It is really beautiful and peaceful here today and all I have on my plate is editing the new collection of short stories, A Man in Her Arms & Other Stories. So it should be a really nice day.
Here are just a few random photos I found of my dad this morning.
Below — my dad and my stepmom, Marie, came to visit us in 1994, after Wayne and I had been married for 1 year. Here we are having Sunday brunch, which, back then, was always bagels, lox & cream cheese!
Above — the final photo I have of my dad with my grandma up in Cleveland — she was, by far, my most favorite person on Earth. She died not long after this photo was taken. (1989)
My dad out west, in the mid-1990s. My stepmom, Marie, took the photo.

Since all the photos I have of my birth dad are scattered all over the place, I decided to just focus this post on my adoptive dad, who passed away 2 months ago.
If I can gather together the few photos I have of my birth dad, I might come back and do another post. We’ll see.
Okay, everyone. have a great day today, wherever you are .

Here it is again, gang. “Teach Your Children,” by CSN &Y. Enjoy.
Splendid weather around here today, gang. Tomorrow, we’re supposed to get a heat wave underway for several days, but today is just perfect.
I am really wanting to head down to see my dad’s grave tomorrow, since it’s Father’s Day and I haven’t been to the cemetery since his funeral. So I haven’t actually seen his gravestone yet.
But I’m not sure I can afford the gas to get there and back. We’ll have to play it by ear.
Meanwhile, the Rolling Stones play Cleveland today, and Cleveland Magazine has been making a lot of Stones-related posts on their Instagram page for the last couple of days. (Apparently, the Stones have been in Cleveland since Thursday.)
Cleveland Magazine posted this photo this morning, which I just love. It is from the 1975 concert that I was at. I was closer to the stage than these people are, but I can tell by where they are in the stadium that these people would have all been right behind me.
It’s not only cool to have this photo as a sort of memento of the times back then, but it’s really cool to know that all these people were in the same place I was on one day in history, 49 years ago. Just so cool to wonder who they were and what they did with their lives.

Phil is expecting to go live on Monday night, 6/17. The time has not been announced yet.
Phil re-posted several very interesting posts from Lin Wood this morning.
You can start here and scroll, but I especially liked this one because it makes a point that I hadn’t seen before:
“Did President Trump lead the way for the manufacture of historic numbers of ventilators primarily for the treatment of Covid-19 or to save the children who had been in underground cages breathing artificial air for years???
Do the research. Connect the dots. Draw your own conclusions.

Nigel Watson – MSM JOURNALIST DROPS A HUGE TRUTH BOMB (15 mins):
*****************
This (the video below) was a huge issue in Ohio, back when I was working at the health food/supplement store and all of us there were trying so hard to help people who were under serious pressure to get the vax . You couldn’t attend school or college, couldn’t play sports, you couldn’t go to your job if you didn’t get the vax, and a TON of people died around here because they got that thing. Or they took it, got sick, went into the hospital, then got remdesivir and died that way.
The saddest was when people came in to see us, desperate to help their kid or their parents who were basically being held prisoner in the local hospital. Trying to sneak their loved ones Vitamin D3 and zinc, like those were illegal drugs. And then when the people came back to the store only to tell us that their parent or child had died anyway from a mandated “vaccine”. It just made us try to fight back harder. It was truly us against the hospitals back then.
That tiny little store was the hub of so much great work in such a small town. People came to us for everything — for handwritten recipes for Hydroxychloroquine, or which Tractor Supply outlet had a new stock of ivermectin, or the latest all-natural protocols for fighting coronavirus and/or the vax.
We even were blessed to have a bunch of tall old white pine trees on the store’s property, so we were able to give customers fresh branches of white pine needles so that they could make their own pine needle tea — a remedy for fighting the spike-proteins that vaxed people were shedding like crazy back then.
And everything was done in secret, in whispers. (“Practicing medicine without a license” would have gotten the store closed down.) What an intense time. I worked there from 2020 to 2023, and basically got paid nothing and was hopelessly broke the entire time, but I will never forget it.
And even at the train station now, people will come in who remember me from the health food store and they say the kindest things — they are still alive because of something we helped them do. It was an exhausting time but worth every minute of the fight.
Since Ohio is “Trump” country, it seemed like that was why they really pushed hard around here, mandating that vax. They wanted to kill or maim as many Trump-voters as they could — and in many ways, they succeeded.
Anyway.
