Wow, what a day yesterday was, gang.

My meeting with Kevin went incredibly well. Just very, very good — regarding the play and an initial sort of “plan” to move forward.

But, wow. He is still fresh from NYC. He is still shell-shocked from it. And it is still really bad there. Especially in the theaters. Still wearing masks. People still thinking COVID actually exists, not having a clue that it’s just a coronavirus– it’s a cold, maybe even a bad cold, or it’s the flu. Period. And that the masks are worse for you than any alleged virus is.

So there is still not just that to overcome, but in terms of the overall “theater”, there is still the racism issue there. The fake, contrived, phony “racism” issue, about how white people can’t direct or write plays about non-whites. (Which, of course, would also mean that non-whites can’t direct or write plays about whites. That’s where you see the deep and dangerous psychological ghetto-ized hole that elites of the world have dug for any people of color who buy into this garbage.)

Anyway. Boots to the ground and put on the full armor of God once again. I’m not happy about it but I’m not going to back down. (And I look a lot prettier when I don’t have to be in “junkyard dog-mode”, but whatever will be, will be.)

So far, throughout my career, I’ve been blessed to work with so many people of every color imaginable who didn’t buy into that dangerous way of reverse-racist thinking, and I intend to continue to find people like that to work with, because this play — Tell My Bones, about the life of Helen LaFrance, an incredibly gifted black painter from Kentucky, who spoke with me, a white woman, in person and gave me the rights to write about her life — is going to get off the ground, one of these days.

But still, the meeting was great and we’re going to move forward.

And yet again, I discover, by way of an online obituary, that another one of my friends is dead. This is the 4th time this has happened to me in the past 2 months.

This was someone I used to run around with back in my folksinging days in NYC. We were a very frisky duo — but not “onstage” and that was not common knowledge!! It was always completely off-the-record whenever we got together.

Anyway, we were like two peas in a pod, we really were. He was 15 years older than me. He was born & raised in Malawi, in Africa, and I of course, was from Ohio, yet our temperaments were the same. Our minds seemed to work the same way, etc. He was on the road constantly back then, but I really loved hanging out with him whenever he was back in the city.

Yesterday, I mean. It was just a great day.

I completed the mandatory credit counseling course, so I’m one step closer in the bankruptcy filing process. Yay.

And I got the house cleaned. Another yay.

The weather was beautiful, and one of the neighborhood cats – a really beautiful little cat who, indeed, has a home of her own — hung out on my kitchen porch most of the day, wanting me to come outside and pay attention to her. It was too cute! And I was happy to do it. Especially since none of my indoor cats, who are all rescued ferals, ever want me to pay attention to them. (And right this minute, one of the homeless strays I feed at night, is curled up in a cozy ball, sleeping on one of the chairs on my kitchen porch. I love the fact that he feels so safe here.)

Anyway, yesterday was also about THIS!!

This also happened yesterday — in Madrid! The Rolling Stones!! All that confetti is because it was Ronnie Wood’s 75th birthday on Wednesday. (If you look closely, you can see the actual Keith on stage, standing in front of the giant-sized Keith on the screen. Followed by a really, really happy-looking Mick and Ronnie!! The stadium was absolutely packed.)

Blixa Bargeld and his band, Einstürzende Neubauten , were in Berlin last night. They are also on their first tour of Europe in two years (their awesome album, Alles in Allum, was realeased at the start of that first fun summer of COVID lockdowns…):

As you can see, a couple of people in Glasgow showed up!!
